Some clubs are getting a lot more than that. 2023 Broncos got $19.4mill from NRL + $1.5mill in development pathways grants from NRL and QRL.If you can’t run a successful nrl club on a grant of 5 million or more over the salary cap then you have to be some kind of special donkey
Times have changed since the days of 95 (plus all travel costs are paid for by the league)
theres plenty to say it wasnt sustainable. hence it wasnt accepted and by vlandys own words it wasnt a sustainable business model. not sure how much more you need, unless you think you know more than the head of the gameNothing in the Western Bears bid to say they wouldn't have been sustainable. Had start up money, had fall back money. Had 6 rich guys with deep pockets. Between a cheap stadium deal, having a CofE built for them, a strong fan east and west coast fanbase and a $20mill annual NRL grant there is nothing to suggest the Western Bears bid wouldn't have been successful. Instead the whole thing is now at the whim of an election and Labor getting back in. Thankfully the signs are good that will happen.
hey up Donkeys back lolI'd rather see Ipswich jets than Perth.
hey up Donkeys back lol
Not to Storm fans it doesnt lol.Bears are probably a done deal, but people in Brisbane care more about league. When storm win it always feels empty. Hopefully north Sydney link provides substance.
Not to Storm fans it doesnt lol.
The 400000 Melbournians who watch the grand final are generally happy when they winNot to Storm fans it doesnt lol.
Enjoy the wait. Doesn’t that apply to every team? We'll find out who are real fans when club has losing season.

Not reallySouth's were out of league at one point. Dolphins in the bottom rung longer. That's rusted on.
Aside from Newcastle fans, god bless them, all clubs lose 20-50% of the bandwagoners when they do poorly. Except Sharks as well as they didn't really pick up many when they did well! Dolphins are still riding the novelty wave but have already lost 20% of crowd from Yr1 to Yr 2South's were out of league at one point. Dolphins in the bottom rung longer. That's rusted on.
