AFL thought Tassie was never happening tho
Eh? This was part of the deal to get the tassie govt to stump up the $120mill + $375mill stadium funding they are putting in. You know shared responsibility’s . Still waiting to hear what nrl is offering WA in this?

Of course he did, cuckoo cuckoo

the govt flatly refusing it last year and coming out now and saying no chance we should just ignore because you say it’s a done deal? lol
You’ve gone from pretending to have inside sources to relying on journalists whose articles say the 120 million is a license fee

Plus another 500 million from the feds

For two stadiums that are already in perfect shape

Only fools and fallen kings ignore public sentiment.
You're adding to the bed wetting with your hysterics on the Den/Cave/whatever it's called group on Facebook, grow up and stop being such a reactionary fanny. Log off if that helps. You're in a position of somewhat influence with that Facebook group. Perpetuating the myths stated by RL hostile media/parties is self defeating. If sentiment changes so much that the WA Bears doesn't happen, you could do with looking at a mirror.

reports gone from $500m to $320m to now $300m lol.

Ben O’Shea: Why the Premier is hedging his bets on NRL

Should Premier Roger Cook come clean over a $300 million plan to bring an NRL team to Perth? Or is Cook the latest target of ARL Commission chairman Peter V’Landys, who got $600m in taxpayer money last year to fund a team in Papua New Guinea.

Rita Saffioti says WA taxpayers wont front cash demands for WA NRL team

WA taxpayers will not hand over a large amount of money to the NRL for a west-coast side, Treasurer Rita Saffioti has declared, as Labor refuses to seek a mandate from voters on a deal.
Speaking as pressure mounts on Labor to come clean with voters, Ms Saffioti labelled leaks from within the NRL to east coast media disclosing hefty taxpayer-funded demands for a WA-based side were “reckless and irresponsible”
Asked on Monday if she was comfortable giving a large amount of money to a sport with a small supporter base in WA, Ms Saffioti said: “Well, we’re not,” before blaming internal leaks from within the NRL.
Insisting there were a “lot of league supporters” in WA, the Treasurer said the deal would not come before the State’s financial management.
“It’s been handled poorly from people over East . . . some of some of the numbers they were putting forward were ridiculous,” Ms Saffioti said.
“We’d only do anything that would benefit the State from a financial and economic point of view.
“The numbers that were bandied about were reckless and irresponsible, and we will continue to make sure we manage the finances responsibly and invest in key services like new upgrades to schools.”
Ms Saffioti’s comments came after Mr Cook came under pressure on Monday for not seeking a mandate for the deal, saying he believed the team would be welcome because West Australians loved sport.
“The opportunity to bring another sporting team to Western Australia as part of a national competition, along with the jobs that are generated from that economic activity, I think it’d be welcome,” the Premier said.
“But that needs to be made in full detail, concerning the benefits to the people of Western Australia and the costs.
“We’re not going to make a decision that’s not in the interests of Western Australia or Western Australia’s taxpayers.”
NRL WA: Premier Roger Cook denies handshake deal has been done
The Premier downplayed the seriousness of the negotiations, saying they were “preliminary” and there was no detail to provide voters in the lead-up to the March 8 election.
Asked if he believed the NRL had negotiated fairly, Mr Cook said: “If they want to provide details of what we believed are confidential conversations to the East Coast media, that’s a decision for them.

This smells just like Dave Crisafulli saying pre QLD election that Liberals wont build new Olympic stadium/stadia. Next minute he is distancing himself from those pre-election comments and will indeed build new stadium/stadia LOL.

Lol i get the vibe this just isnt happening isnt it.

I reckon News Corp have ran the deal is done about a dozen times and its never been finalised.

How is the franchise going to last if they can't even get up and running without all these constant issues to start it up.

The Cumins bid getting knocked back was a genuine shock. At the time nothing pointed to it being flawed, even if early leaked artwork wasn't popular, though they still had 2.5 years to fix that.
Journos had no clue it was happening either

They’ve been useless since day one about this bid

ya dont get this deep in negotiations for it to fall apart. both nrl and west aussie gov knew what they were getting into and nows its only a matter of making sure it works for both. if ya paid any sort of attention to this process, it'll happen

Maybe cook was right about making everyone agree to an nda

Leaks didn’t come from nrl either
blackbears been saying for weeks nda yeah? whole think wreaks of it and again ya dont get so annoyed at things like cookie did last week if it wasnt close to truth. if words like "leaks" are being used then c'mon cob.

Nov $500m reported west aussie investment = no one cares. no noise made. no genuine rebuttal in front of cameras.

Feb $320m reported west aussie investment = everyone cares. big noise. rebuttal in front of cameras lol.

usually its when sums are higher than originally reported that where uproar, not lower and in this case considerably lower lol now last weeks reported figure of $320m is $300m this week. lol

I hope it does

I would love to see a Perth side & Bears back in some capacity.

But you never know in this game until its across the line nothing is ever locked in.
