I think each case should be considered on its own merits actually …New teams obviously aren’t being judged by the standards of the existing ones lol

Never is a very long time in politics. If the stadium funding isn't committed before an NRL team is admitted , it never will. This is the only bargaining chip you have and you want to throw it away?
Great tactics![]()
Perth bears business plan is trust me broI don’t even think that cook is opposed to hbf upgrade, just that time isn’t right. Better for him to stagger the numbers so it doesn’t look like he is spending huge sums getting an nrl club. It was Telling Rita used the word ‘immediate’ in her language on the stadium.
Storm had news Ltd pumping in a hundred million and still got lucky with Bellamy
They are a very poor example of what to emulate
You do realise he was specifically talking about stadiums dont you?Storm had news Ltd pumping in a hundred million and still got lucky with Bellamy

Yay let's have another shit stadium.Oh it’s reported has it ? By the same people that reported half a dozen times that the Perth Bears were already across the line no doubt …
Plenty of teams play in a lot shitter stadiums than this proposed team would be
If the storm didn’t have news Ltd behind them then playing at Olympic park they could’ve failedwe are talking about stadiums now .. keep up or best read only
No my plan would be to get a behind door in principle agreement to build a business case for it and come back to the table in a year or two with some sweeteners like nines, all stars and magic round to get it over the line. In the mean time build the club sell the place out and show why it’s needed.Perth bears business plan is trust me bro
came in just after SL and a time when clubs were getting culled an merging left right center with shit admin in news ltd. its not the same, c'mon do better,And the Storm came in and played out of shitty Olympic Park for 10 years … and they proved they could get crowd, developed a following and got a new stadium built for them … there is more than one way to skin a cat
This ^^^Perth bears business plan is trust me bro
Are they? What are they doing to move away from Leichhardt, Brookie etc?Yay let's have another shit stadium.
The NRL are trying to eliminate shit stadiums. Are you not paying attention?
If the storm didn’t have news Ltd behind them then playing at Olympic park they could’ve failed
Thought you would’ve worked out what I meant
I mean you aren’t saying it but the stadium build is essential to the bidNo my plan would be to get a behind door in principle agreement to build a business case for it and come back to the table in a year or two with some sweeteners like nines, all stars and magic round to get it over the line. In the mean time build the club sell the place out and show why it’s needed.

And it’s a bad example of apply to Perth for the reasons I’ve saidWe are not talking about their funding or a hypothetical about them failing ..
we are talking about the crappy stadium they played in before the Govt built then a shiny new one
And after the first two years of hype dies down , the Bears are at the bottom of the ladder and everyone is saying they should just go to that beautiful stadium on the central coast...No my plan would be to get a behind door in principle agreement to build a business case for it and come back to the table in a year or two with some sweeteners like nines, all stars and magic round to get it over the line. because it goes hand in hand mate. news ltd lobbied for nothing, they extracted all they could without giving. including stadiums. if the olympics werent in sydney in 2000 then theyd have no big stadium there around that time.We are talking about stadiums and you blokes keep moving the goal posts
You continue to ignore the appalling rising costs of the Tasmanian stadium .Again with the apples and oranges comaprison. Tasmania is an AFL state desperate for a top flights sports club in a national comp.
WA isnt an NRL state and has top flight sports clubs in every code bar one.
In Tasmania AFL are putting in a significant investment of their own money. WA NRL are not.
Maybe if the NRL had fronted up with $100mill contribution and not turned down $50mill of private investment WA's would look a lot better?
