Holy f**k, could the Bears "insiders" have been more wrong on this thread in the last 6 months?
Not really, it was all going swimmingly until they decided to pull agreed to terms and conditions prior to the WA election when it came to crunch time Thursday last week. Rita Saffioti was entrusted to head the remaining discussions from the WA Gov side of things and drive it home. She instead drove it into the ground.

As I stated last weekend, this took NRL and relevant stakeholders by surprise. That’s business mate, things can fluctuate and change on a whim.

from what we were led to believe six months ago, the negotiations were primarily between PVL and Cook ,,, PVL was even making jokes about Cook ringing him too much, and Cook came over to meet with him in November ,..

So Cook hands it over at the death ( and after the election) , and it then goes off the rails …Rita sounds like Cooks scapegoat…

If I had a $ for every time in the last 9 months the media or an 'insider' has told us the deal is done lol

When I studied ancient history in school I was told check your sources

These Randos have zero credibility

If a known journo says it maybe it’s true

Even they lie

I still think it’s 50 50

you said cumins consortium bid was being announced grand final week. you even had a little merry gathering at a pub to beat ya petit bird chest.

posters here advised you that cumins bid was gonna fall through but apparently you thought ya knew best. even ya mate peter tinley was wrong here. now its evident whats happened this time around and ya beating ya fragile chest again like youre some sort of beacon of light in the wea rugby league scene?

ya the worst endorsement wa nrl would have. ya constantly wrong and over sensationalise things here and on the cave. ya claim to be this massive western reds fans yet werent even in australia when they were around and then had the gualls to lie about their management or should i say mismanagement for almost 2 decades on this forums. youre so blinded by the pink eye ya got given from feltching peter cumins dirty asshole too much that ya cant see this current nrl admin are the best chance wa has at a team. ya cant even see that its wa gov who have moved the posts by their own admission of removing funding of hbf park lol.

He also said Cummins would never pay a license fee

And that Cummins would get back in with a revised bid

People can believe what they want red bear is the only one who has a clue what’s been going on

And he’s not even saying half the stuff he knows cause it might damage the bid

The few tidbits I’ve gotten which aren’t much were juicy af

Was that the one where his ten friends showed up to a poor looking pub and they posted a video thanking everyone for coming? Hahaha

The moral of the story is that nothing should be believed until the deal is done … I was never a fan of the Bears/ Perth hook up …but I have some sympathies now that both groups have had their hopes raised with all the media talk that it already was over the line..only to be left with nothing …. Whether it was the NRL or WA Govt fault is pretty irrelevant to them I would imagine …

I hope in respect of the TV deal, the NRL have learnt to keep things a little closer to their vest and do their talking after the ink is on the contract

Yep all that talk about 20 teams if they stop at 18 it’s a huge fail

I don’t mind the chat but if you don’t back it up by actions it’s means js

They shouldn’t have said they are aiming for 3 bill

Tv companies know now that’s their ceiling and will settle for less

We've been saying that for months and you seemed to ignore it, until this post.

Whatever happens either a done deal or see you later , this thread has been one of the most entertaining since the advent of the computer. Villains , dreamers , critics , insiders, outsiders, know alls(you rang?), provocateurs and NRL undercover guys.
Almost worth the price of admission.
Wait … you’re paying to be here?

Forget the d&ck measuring contest going on in here and between PVL & cook .... RL is now likely to miss out on becoming a truly National Sport. There seems to be more interest in the NRL / ARLC into buying into SL (where is the profit in that) and expanding into PNG than expanding the game within Australia.

Overall its highly disappointing and deflationary to the game in WA.

The fact they are seemingly ok to walk away from $120mill investment in the game in WA should tell you how much they care about expanding the game across Australia.

FMD you are a bs artist

All week you’ve been saying the nrl should accept the deal as it’s worth 55 million or so

There was no offer of 120 million
