Did the NRLWA suspend the local games on Saturday so NRLWA club players could go?
Pretty sure they'd scheduled this week off for this reason, yeah. And Easter next weekend. And ANZAC rep games the following weekend.
Almost a month's break after just a few weeks into the season!

I came over.

Was walking to Perth Station enroute to the game in the footy jersey, etc and got stopped by some random woman asking if Manly were playing or something? Said she born and bred in Manly.

So, I'm going to go with absolutely no promotion whatsoever, or she was just dumb as dog shit....all things are possible I suppose.
I had a delivery fella come to my door here in Perth today (wife's seemingly been Temu shopping again..!). I answer it and I'm wearing a Knights singlet.
"Knights, eh? What sport is that? Soccer?"
"Nah, mate," I reply, " Rugby League. NRL."
"Ah, righto. I go for Parramatta."

'Clearly', I think to myself as he walks away back to his van. One would think a supporter of any NRL team would know, at the very least, who opposition teams are.

Nor would they admit they follow parra.

All up the giants have had around 80 million

And rather than waste money on the Showgrounds they could’ve played at Accor

But they said it was too big and wanted a purpose built ground

When it comes to stadiums league just doesn’t get looked after well

Heck commbank was built more for the wanderers and Allianz because it’s multi purpose

Canberra stadium is rotting whilst the govt wants to invest in Manuka

Penrith and north qld are a rare example of league being looked after

And now we have hbf park which is on par with some suburban grounds in Sydney
Spot on mate and AAMI was built for the Victory.

Brisbane will have a bigger and better oval stadium than rectangle

Sydney has a bigger oval than rectangle SCG v Allianz. Accor was f**ked by the AFL and then they abandoned it. It's only used now by rectangular sports but it's an oval.

Melbourne, a city of 5m can only muster a 30k stadium.

Perth a city of 2 million is not only small - 20k, but also shit

Adelaide, 16k and shit

Canberra falling apart and shit but can't get upgraded

NRL get some lobbyists! This is is a disgrace in a country where Soccer and Union are reasonably popular and NRL is huge. As my old boss used to say to us when a problem came up 'just f**king fix it'

Again problem for NRl in the negotiations is they ask for everything and contribute nothing.
Using your example of the sydney showgrounds it was a $65mill upgrade of which the NSW govt paid $45mill, AFL $10mill (15%) and RAS $10mill. Equivalent in Perth would be asking for a $200mill upgrade for HBF and NRL contributing $30mill to it.
Again I'll ask... If the NRL offered Cook $10 or $15m for Shitbox Stadium, Perth, do you really think we'd get an Allianz in return? Hell no

Afl really running scared! Tomorrows headline.
Good sign if the AFL compliant media are putting this shit out, feels like the deal is there.

It is concerning that the local media is not supportive of the side at all and outright hostile currently. Would this change when it is finally signed and The West get on board?

It is a concern…They are the only local paper over there and appears this is just a campaign against the NRL now…

How will they report on them once they are in the competition ?
No coverage when they are doing well…. And move them back to Sydney when the inevitable early struggles come of any expansion team

It's less to do with code wars, and more to do with the Liberal Party controlled media
