For mine, you get the team in the comp and agitate after that, not the other way around.

The AFL, for example, is having all sorts of bullshit with their new team, and may have to delay it by years.
The Hobart stadium is about to be resolved - it has bypartisan support and will be pushed though parliament in a couple of months. On track for 2028.

Similarly, the NRL has leverage until contracts are signed, After that, it will be much harder to get anything done. Especially if WA has a different Premier.

Bears vs Manly at NSO 1st game,

Absolutely not!
First game at Perth Stadium. 60 000.
Their first game in Sydney to be at Allianz vs Manly. Another sellout.
Save that dump NSO for a nostalgia game against Sharks or Cowboys or another low drawing club. It would be another sellout.
North Sydney Oval should only be used once a season, just like the Dogs do with Belmore.
Even that once is one times too many tbh.

What a journey and many hours doing bits and pieces for this behind the scenes that many here aren’t aware of.

Anyways, official word/announcement could be this weekend but most likely next week or so.
Congrats mate and great work. Any inside word on the preferred locality name, Western or Perth. Really hope it's the latter since rugby already have the Western Force.

Trial games only if you ask me. Cumins bid agreement with norths was a game on the central coast. That may still be the case.

All their home games need to be in Perth, if anything they need to get more games in Perth.

Ch9 Perth used Perth Bears in its news segments through the morning. Not sure if they are guessing or have had a nod and wink?

Could we finally be nearly there?

Great news! I wonder if the 50m is spread over 5 years or 10 years anyone know?

If the bears are pulling 20k to most games the first couple years it will naturally bring the conversation back to stadium upgrades - I still think that’s feasible by 2030.

They should definitely play a couple big games a year at Optus including their very first game. NSO should be saved for trial games only. Manly should move their home game against Perth to Allianz, don’t take away any home games from Perth to Sydney.

Looking forward to the official announcement!

I’m sure we are all very curious to see how the home game thing plays out ….Chammas and Jimmy Smith in that SEN podcast I posted a page or so back were suggesting that it might just be a trial game at North Sydney … they could play 7-8 away games in Sydney at places like Allianz and Commbank amongst others
