Well after the disaster of last weeks performance we once again head to the WAR zone looking for a win. Belrose comfortably defeated us at their place a few weeks ago at a game I had the misfortune to be at!

They are not a big side but are well coached and will punish any mistakes so we simply cannot afford the drop balls and penalties that seem to plague us week in and week out.

For me McMenemy has to be at 6 and Gherardi at 3 for us to have a chance.

Comeeee on you Redssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

Will McMenemy not be suspended for his raised forearm that got him sent off in the latter stages of last weekend's game?

Belrose hammered the comp leaders Mounties 52-10 last sunday. They have won 6 out of 7 at home but are yet to win away.

Good news, McMenemy and Edwards not banned. Still no Tyrone though, where's he gone??

BLAKE & EDWARDS BACK IN FOR REDS - BELROSE GAMEFront rower James Blake is back in the WA Bartercard Reds side after a week off and will provide a bit of power for the side with the possibility of Delane Edwards missing out due being cited after last week’s melee in the final 10 minutes. Edwards is defending his striking charge.
Half back Ryan Dickson is also in the side following a quicker recovery from a broken jaw which was not as bad as first thought. Also into the side are Clae Morgan and Ben McCrone.
The Reds showed good intensity last week and while going down, they held their defense well for much of the game although they still missed opportunities up front when they counted.
One of the factors the Reds need to overcome is the imbalance of penalty counts which have plagued the side for most of the games this season. Opposition sides have racked up easy penalties while the Reds have been on the wrong end from referees. It has been frustrating for the coaching staff and the players who have to deal with the extended defensive efforts.
Part of the focus will be to work on their own game and carry the ball through full sets of six. There is enough talent on the field to win the game and Coach Chris Dever will be working on some variations at 20 to 30 metres out to ensure they cross the line with better efficiency than in the past.
The team is upbeat about winning and will come up against a better Belrose Eagles team than the last time they met. In round 10 the Eagles jumped to a 30 nil lead at half time, but the boys fought back strongly in the second half to outscore them going down by 16 points
Belrose are also coming off a big win against Mounties last week and will be keen as all sides visiting the West to put up a good showing.
In the curtain raiser Joondalup Giants will take on Willagee Bears which should see a victory to the Giants over the last placed Bears.
LATE BREAKING NEWS: The Judiciary has dropped the charges against Delane Edwards so he will now play on Saturday evening. Charges were also dropped against Shame McMenemy earlier in the week.
Game Times
WA Reds V Belrose Eagles 7.30pm
Joondalup Giants V Willagee Bears First Grade 5.30pm
Reserves 4.00pm
League Tag 3.00pm

Another sh1te 1st half performance, 24-0 down at HT. A brief fightback in the second half but never looked like winning it. FT 30-20 to Belrose

Because we scored a couple of times from them so he now thinks he needs to do it every time he gets the ball! How a decent SL player can become an average JB Cup player is beyond me. He started the season really well but the last 3 weeks he looks like he's lost all interest.

Only shining light was the return of our number 7 who actually had a decent game.

We are lacking a fullback, standoff, bench hooker, rough and tough props and a decent second rower. Their number 11 tore us apart all game.

We also need to work on getting off our line in defence. At the moment we move up two metres then wait for the opposition to get to us. A number of times we had them pinned in their twenty yet they got into our half with relative ease.

Full back is far more important a position than winger as we have seen over the last two games were poor fullback play has directly cost us 4 tries! Winger seems to be a position where we do have a number of options and young Te Wara looked ok there this week. Kestel can play wing fine as well so if Godecke is a good full back why waste him on the wing? Egglestone could also play wing and Gherardi at centre in his place (a much better option that having him sat on the bench for half the game anyway!).
