Walsh - can we keep him

I see an article in one of the Sunday papers saying Walsh is being offered 100k to join the Bulldogs and is on 50k at the Knights.

Dureau seems to be well out of favour - Karawana has been playing well and is in front of both of them right now.

We obviously can't keep all three and Mullen - so do we keep the injury prone Walsh or hope Dureau comes good or what.

I was quite surprised we got Karawana in the first place, going into this year we already had Johns, Mullen, Walsh and Dureau...

Not that contributes to the topic at all :p I would prefer to keep Walsh and Dureau but that might not happen!

If they offer him 100k i'm sure we can, and it will mean more here since he doesnt have to move, and he'd be in with a good shot at FG soon.

he'd be nuts if he left..why do the dogs want him they got Sherwin and Roberts??

he has a 99% chance of playing FG this year once he back on the field...he'd be crazy to go!!

Is it really crazy? I'm not sure what B.Smith is thinking, however I'm thinking that he is thinking of bringing in a established halfback into the club to partner Mullen. Which would mean Walsh will play PL forever.... Then again he would also PL at dogs. Heard Cory Huges is leaving and maybe Folkes wants Walsh to play as bench hooker/half.

In addition isnt he really small? Too small?

Joel Brown was an Australian Schoolboy wasn't he? That has to mean something to a player's credentials.

Having said that however, Karawana didn't do too much wrong the other night. Perhaps he is our new 5/8.

I was honestly very impressed with Karawana, mainly his defence.

I spose because I was expecting everyone to run over him as Single_Newy_Chick suggested..

We have 2 weeks to get him use to playing 5/8th for us with the FG team.

Worth giving him a go imo. Cant do no worse than Brown, not that he was bad, just not great.

Walsh is too poor a defender (size) to play hooker.

Dogs obviously have no faith in Sherwin, and see alot of promise in Walshy. Roberts will move to hooker IMO - he isn't a natural halfback.

Mullo is a natural 5/8 - and IMO would excel with Walshy playing inside him.

Perhaps that Doggies are also lining up a goalkicker for the post-elmagic era. Having the NSW under 19 halfback in your side must be an advantage.

I'm not sold on Walsh to be honest, mabe if te dog want to offer him 100k, we can offer him maybe 80k and hope that loyalty, and beng able to stay in yor home own are important factors for Walshy

Walshy has got to think he has a real chance of FG here at the Knights doesn't he? I know perfectly good halves have left before knowing they would never boot Joey out of the #7.

Is Walsh ever going to play firstgrade? Even with our three first choice halves Johns Mullen and Abraham all out injured he couldn't even get a bench spot. Kidley Brown and Karawana all seem to be ahead of him as well.
