So did we get anyone of real value?
I they are out chasing a couple of those tier two players at the world cup that have shone and gone better than expected.
There may be uncontracted players in QLD or NSW cup that would love a chance to put in a year or two with us a sa stepping stone.
Failing all that we must have one or two locals that we could add, they don't need to be anything flash just big and mobile , know how to hang on to a ball and not loose it in a tackle while going down fighting and be able to put in a decent tackle that doesn't get them 10 in the bin or banned ,run from the back fence types that only go in a straight line and into or over anything in the way. A preference for raw meat (human preferred) would be a bonus. We had pretty good success when we had one or two munters in our prop rotation.

I saw an article recently about Sam McKendry being the forgotten man at the Panthers. It seems he’s fallen a little further down the ladder at Penrith.

Question: would he be a good one year signing for the Warriors?

What I really want us to try n pick up is that ‘Senior Pro’ type player. Someone who puts it under their arm and says follow me. The Price, Wiki, Liliman (in his prime) type, who gets us 100+ meters and 30 tackles. But also an off field leader who has high standards.

There must still be a couple options out there still who fit the bill?

So who do we have exactly..?

Blair
Gavet
Paasi
Pulu
Lisone
Vete
Afoa
Sao
Sipley
Satae

That list is in the hierarchical order that I think they are. Interesting that Paasi is listed as a lock on the warriors site. There is a lot of names there and a lot of potential but zero proven performers

I'd rather Blair at second row. He's fit enough, tackles all day and likes to offload. I don't want our sets starting with a 1-5 metres gained (or lost) hit up, where he's been dominated in the tackle. Instant back foot and that shit can resonate throughout the pack at times, not to mention the accumulative damage with every hit up.

Gavet, Passi, Vete and Lisone would be my front row for now.

Our front rowers are sooo small. Satae, Sao, Lisone and arguably Blair are too small for the front row imo.
Blair's done the job there before from time to time, but he's not someone like Matulino that you can rely on to get good go forward and over 100m per game.
I was hopeful we'd bulk someone like Vete or Afoa up so that we have a point of difference on our bench.
Anyone have any news from preseason about how any of the players are looking - who's looking trim, who's looking bulky, who's looking fat (please not Luke).
Off topic, anyone see the picture of what Kasiano looks like at the storm?
Blokes trimmed down something huge!

Sam Tagataese ended up at the Broncos however the Warriors showed some interest. Should have signed him for a year as our cover isn’t great. Let’s not forget that Paasi wasn’t a regular starter for the Titans!

Seriously average front row. If Gavet gets injured again, hopelessly poked.

I can see Lisone, Vete etc drifting for another year. They're the sort of guys that unless they're playing in a pack with real leaders - I'm talking Prices, Wikis, even Jake, Micheal Luck (I know he's not a prop but he was a forward leader) they play uninspired. Ben, Rusty had the benefit of spending their younger years under those guys. Blair showed during the World Cup he's not a leader's arsehole, and there's no one else with any experience. No one will fear us.

100% - they are unlikely to win, or even achieve parity in the middle, pretty much ever

Dave Taylor & Fui Fui Moi Moi sacked by Toronto, is Taylor worth a 1 year contract?
Or is that desperation?
Despite his track record, both on and of the field, I’d give it a shot.
