Automatically the consensus is that Nikorima would be brought over to play hooker. He can play 7 or 6 as well. We have space for some depth for both the 7 or 6 positions.

The difference that Nikorima has OVER Green, CHT and Keighran is that he's a LINE BREAKER!! CHT, Green and Keighran dont break the line as regularly as Nikorima. Nikorima is also the KIWIS no. 6 or no.7. Just incase yous forgot...

Definitely a signing that depends on how much we would end up paying him.
If he's signed for half on SJs $ its a solid move. over that... hmmm.

With Blake Green fit - at least Kodi can attack at 6 - we're lacking that threat this year for sure.

He’s a poor mans Shaun Johnson. Not sure we would be paying him like a poor man.

He definitely is a line breaker, and a pretty good support player too.

The challenge with Nikorima becomes what to do with Green, Luke, Roache and Tevaga

6- Harris-Tavita
7- Nikorima
9- Luke

14- Roache

or

6- Harris-Tavita
7- Green
9- Luke

14- Nikorima

or

6- Harris-Tavita
7- Green
9- Roache

14- Nikorima

or

6- Green
7- Nikorima
9- Luke

14- Roache

I think that last one will probably be the way that we go.

He also said Kata had the week off on compassionate grounds only to have him pop up in reserve grade, this coach has more double speak than your average politician.
The only thing I thought was that the reserve game in NZ? So if true compassionate leave he would only be away for 3-4 hours vs 2-3 days.

But then what happens to Jazz?

I think it's becoming more and more crowded and Jazz is going to have to look elsewhere. Funnily enough, he's been playing good football, actually. I can see him getting a gig elsewhere...although I am not sure what his position is.

He’s a mobile, high workrate lock who can occasionally fill in at dummy half but shouldn’t be a regular option there.

I agree with Space. He's never been a hooker. This decision doesn't really effect Jazz as he wouldn't be playing hooker except out of previous necessity as injury cover.

Jazz would still likely be coach's first pick on the bench to play a mobile forward utility role. We can still have that AND a second hooker in rotation.

Speaking of Broncos. I learned the other day that a few years ago we had Payne Haas on our books. I kid you the F not.
We're good at finding talent and either farming them out or looking at someone and telling them they will never be NRL standard.

We’ll certainly be paying overs for Nikorima, as both him and SK have same player manager. Pretty sure Blair on his books as well. Moses is manager I think. He’s the one who had like 14-15 Tigers on books at same time when a went pear shaped for them with Mitchell Moses, Woods, Teddy and Brooke’s 2 yrs back. Moses will have more control within the club than anyone else soon enough if not careful.

Hopefully he’s not on Adam Blehs per metre rate.
