Warriors sign Nathan Fien

Nathan Fien will be playing in Warriors colours in 2005. The Warriors confirmed the coup signing today. Nathan Fien is a SOO rep and has nearly 80 NRL appearances under his belt for the Cowboys.

Fien is mainly accustomed to the halfback role but his future is seen in the #9 jersey. It is unclear who Fien is set to replace, what is clear is he'll be demanding a starting berth.

Is this our answer for Stacey Jones' departure? Will PJ Marsh ever play again? Have we missed out on Matt Orford???

Stay tuned, same bat time, same bat channel

he's a good player, better than Leuluai #-o , could be an impact player from the bench

this was unexpected. i reckon he'd provide good speed out of dummy half. he'd be another option if something bad happened to one of our halves.

I just hope we didn't spend that much on him, we have enough hookers already. I dont see any room for both him and Dezolt.

He's played Origin, and represented Australian age grade sides. I rate Chris Shepherd up there so he may be surplus to requirements.

I guess this is seen as life after PJ, I can only hope he is isn't a replacement for either Stacey or Lance Hohaia. The club must retain Lance Hohaia, the idea was to build Kiwi players and only replace them if there are better Australian options. Fein is a good player (ask Lauaki who he made look like a goose a few weeks back - he probably turned the game with that dart), but Hohaia could be a Kiwis great at five eighth.

That was one of my first thoughts when i first heard.

Jeez, we had problems with hookers last year/early this year, now we have them coming out of our ears.

Strange singing and really it is a sign that one of the little guys must be ready to go e.g. - Lance, Stacey, Thomas, Paul Dezolt, Peter John. Chuck in Justin and Webb and we have a team of midgets.

Dezolt will be gone from the team after this season. And also likely Murphy.
And Maybe LeuLeuai.

I agree Ozbash. Leuluai has a big future

Fien would have been cheap. Probably not much more than DeZolt.

:( Got to agree. He's certainly not a Kevin Campion

And once again - you guys are commenting on what he 'used' to be. He's not currently a SOO player! Hasnt played in a rep side for yonks and is being discarded by the Cowboys because he isnt first or second choice for them!
Must be a reactionary signing and why so quick after DAs departure????
