Who will stay...Who will go?

I think things are looking bleak for retaining Tate. The Price/Tate love affair with the Warriors appears to be on rocky ground. (Perhaps, like Tiger, the Warriors have been screwing around?)

Seymour is an unknown - I guess they want to see him play.

I wouldn't like to see Matulino or Poching go. They are well capable of good football - need a good coach. I think Latimore is in the same boat. Has size, fitness and good hands. Looks to lack confidence and uncertain what he should do. Would love to see him get fired up - then we might see some fireworks. (Could he be homesick?)

Lillyman & Royal are journeymen. Lillyman is playing his best football this year - hired as a second rower but plays better at prop or lock. (Why am I not surprised?) I am glad things worked out for Royal with his son. Can't fault his work ethic but his hands let him down.

Gee, our recruitment has been poor!

The Warriors have made no formal approaches to any Melbourne Storm players in the wake of the salary cap scandal – but it's thought they do have room under their 2010 cap for another marquee signing.
But while the club has admitted an interest in Storm prop Adam Blair, its priority now is retaining centre Brent Tate, who played his 150th NRL game against North Queensland last night.
The Warriors have no offers on the table to any other players.
Sources told the Star-Times that Tate's former club Brisbane, suggested earlier this year as a potential suitor, hasn't made an offer, and is still waiting on a decision from Israel Folau on his future before investigating other backline options.
Even if Brisbane did want Tate, it is unlikely to match the Warriors financially, with Tate's current contract with the club understood to be worth $400,000 a season.
That leaves the Warriors with breathing space to consider their next move, and they are not rushing into any more recruitment decisions after last week's signings of Feleti Mateo and Krisnan Inu from Parramatta – as predicted by the Sunday Star-Times.
"We're not actively in the market: at the moment, we are not looking at anyone else," said Warriors recruitment manager Dean Bell. However, when pressed about the Warriors' desire to pick up another frontrower, Bell admitted: "I wouldn't rule that one out, especially with losing Pricey [the retiring Steve Price], but we've got to prioritise what we think we need and we won't really know until we make a decision on the ones we currently have off-contract."
The Warriors have 10 players off-contract, but with Tate consuming the biggest chunk of their salary cap, it would make sense to resolve his future first.
Price is among the other nine, with the other big-earners in that list being second row Jacob Lillyman and halfback Brett Seymour, with the club holding options on both, as well as on prop Jeremy Latimore and backrow Ukuma Ta'ai. The others off contract are frontrow Jesse Royal and fringe players Mike Afioga, Alehana Mara and James Gavet, none of whom have yet played first grade. It seems increasingly unlikely Royal and Lillyman will be retained.
"We're currently in negotiations with his [Tate's] agent, with a view to re-signing him," said Bell.
"We've been told [other clubs are interested] but we don't worry too much about what's happening at other clubs. We've just got to make sure everything fits for us."
The Warriors met on Friday to discuss their off-contract players and will talk again next week ahead of a round 13 deadline on having first chance to re-sign their own players.
They also intend to promote at least two under-20s players to full-time contracts, with Bell nominating Wellington hooker Matthew Robinson and ex-rugby wing Ivan Penehe as leading contenders.

Strong rumours that Sam McKendry is heading over here next year, and that Likiliki is heading to the Knights in 2011.

Oh yeah.. I'd take mckendry. Massive potential, Kiwi and wouldnt be demanding near as much money as Blair/Lima/White, but theres the youth and risk in development to add in.

Matulino is a tough one.. I thought he would be carving up. He makes a good run a game, but he only touches the ball like 4 times per game. Can hit good too.

Agree there. He's just got to watch his weight and diet. Loves his beer does young Sam. Not a problem drinker though.

Pretty sure the Warriors snubbed him as a junior.

Keep Tate is possible. However i can see him going back to Brisebane. Maybe Inu was brought in as his replacement?

Seymour keep! it gives us so more options in the halves, plus it lets us have one of Seymour, Mateo, Maloney or Johnson drop form. I think having those three can produce a good platform, plus Seymour has the vital experience that can assist Maloney and Johnson. Keep him for a 2 year deal.

I'd say its curtains for Lillyman and Royal. Shame for Lillyman as he has been playing his best football for us in recent times. But with Steve Rapira coming i cant see a use for Lillyman. Royal just hasnt been upto standard imo.

I would like to keep Poching, hes been impressive in his little time in FG.
I would also like us keep onto Latimore as i think we need him as depth because with Price and maybe Lillyman and Royal going, it would put us light on props with Rapira, Packer, Poching (who isnt re-signed yet!) and any young guns coming through.

Hope we can sign a prop and maybe another outside back.

Seymour signed for a year with what looks to be a team-option for another, depending on off-field indiscretions.

See the articles of him signing with the Warriors last year for confirmation.

If true, this is a good position for us to be in. He's looking the goods for us in the limited games he has played for us so far.

I wonder if they will look to retain tate and play Inu in fulback. IIRC he played there for the Kiwis in that ill-fated centenary test.

Don't think that would be the case personally.
Where would they play Hohaia? Plus i think Locke is the future at fullback.
On top of that, we have McKinnon as back up so no real need for Inu at fullback unless Wade is going.
