Yeah seems to be the same idea I'm getting but it sounds to be reasonably even...... first trial game is about blowing out the cobwebs and getting some match fitness. The result is secondary provided they make a good showing and don't get pumped.....

Sounds like Kearney has worked miracles with our defence, as Warriors have only scored two tries. :sarcasm:

I would prefer that we learn from this game - we play them round 1 in NZ (again). You would hope we would learn lessons from it.

The result isn't that important but anytime we lose all of our trials, we generally continue that form into Round 1

Nah. No lessons needed. Everyone knows trials, especially the first one, are just about getting some match fitness and just a general hit out. I'm sure Kearney would have just told the guys to get out there do the basics, have some fun and don't even think about the score. In saying that, I don't have much confidence in winning our round 1 encounter with them, they're virtually impossible to beat over there in the opening round as we've found out before. It really is the short straw we've drawn in regards to the draw over the past 5 years.

Anxiously awaiting the usual person who believes we are set for the wooden spoon because we lost in a trial.

When you compare the line-ups, the fact that they have already played a trial and a few other things, and also the obvious point that it is a trial that we played with mostly young players or incoming players, you can't take much from this at all.

I'm more interested in seeing how we go against the Tigers, depending on the line-ups both teams decide to play.

Also actually wanting to see how individual players performed, players with question marks over their heads or who we simply want to see; Shackleton, Mortimer, Murray, Walker, Loko, Hicks, etcetera.
