Ponga barely looked like breaking the line. Seemed super hesitant to run.Adam O’Brien is an interesting case isn’t he, made finals 4 out of 5 years, but constantly under pressure, and this attack they are producing is only going to ramp up the heat. They certainly aren’t getting anywhere near monies worth out of Ponga and you wonder if something is going on there
Watched him closely, he just wanders over and puts himself at first receiver most of the time, they don’t run any sort of sweeping plays that sees him hit the ball at any pace, like you see when the likes of Trbojevic, Tedesco, Hammer etc chime in. The Warriors kick chase was always a straight line in numbers as well so there were no chinks for him to exploit on returnPonga barely looked like breaking the line. Seemed super hesitant to run.
Yeah he looked disinterested last night. Maybe we just D'ed up well and he had very few opportunities.Ponga barely looked like breaking the line. Seemed super hesitant to run.
Yeah, they're pretty bad. Feel like they have a decent pack, but the makeup of their spine is all wrong. That 6 of theirs, Sharpe, is quick and i know he's scored a few this season but he looks like a running fullback, not a five-eighth. Doesn't seem to have much creativity, and also doesn't seem able to generate much shape, either. And Cogger and Gamble need the rest of the spine to be creative if they're going to be effective. It could work if Ponga's playing well, I guess, but he's not.Yeah he looked disinterested last night. Maybe we just D'ed up well and he had very few opportunities.
I wanted to say this earlier but didn't want to tempt fate...the Knights are an appalling football side this year. They're down on confidence and I'm actually disappointed we let them score a couple of tries.
This should be our new Anzac Day rivalry.
They refuse to pick their best 7, and he is sitting in reserve grade on $800k a yearYeah, they're pretty bad. Feel like they have a decent pack, but the makeup of their spine is all wrong. But if it was shared each side of the Tasman? To me, ANZAC Day or Easter games are for genuine rivalries. We have one with who? Storm, definitely (yes I know we don't win, but there's feeling there and a trophy). No one else I can think of comes close.so much better than playing the Storm in Melbourne
Yeah I wrote them, then I thought that they wouldn't see it the same way.I think the Broncos are the closest to being a rivalry for us, though we wouldn’t be foremost as rivals for them.
Us and Melbourne are two of the real 'outsiders' of the NRL. Any Qld or NSW side is an insider if you want to put it that way. So that is why we should've kept the Melbourne Anzac Day.Yeah I wrote them, then I thought that they wouldn't see it the same way.
Shame we aren't with the Cows, that seems like a logical rivalry.
ANZAC Day against the Southern Orcas (shit name) in 2030 at the new indoor stadium?
