Ah, the liar's paradox "A man from Crete says all Cretans tell lies".

I'd pretty much bank on the NZRL being the liars. Or the Mole is actually Danny Weilder, making him the liar.

Nah, Danny Wiedler can't be the Mole, because the Mole hits more often than he misses. Wiedler is the opposite.

If that is the case, it wreaks of complete and utter New Zealand RL incompetency. While I like the Kearney/Bennett scenario, I'd have preferred it the other way around with Kearney learning off Bennett, and Bennett leaning on Kearney's New Zealand ties to build the culture.

Why is that the New Zealand Rugby League, no matter what administration is in place, continues to f**k this sport up and make such woeful decisions? It doesn't seem to matter whether the people are 'league' people or 'business' people on the board, cheap woeful decisions are continually made. It's like the joint is cursed.

Yep, but I'd have preferred Bennett/Prescott. Still, when will the hurting stop?

The cynic in me wouldn't be surprised if they needed to get Wayne on board to shore up Aussie fears after the 350K advance from the ARL. It was for the May 9 test, that's what they signed him for, and indeed may have been all they wanted him for in the end. He may have agreed after hearing violins being played over the NZRL plight, and the implications for the international game. What they said to him originally, or on the All Golds tour when players opinions were first voiced, who knows? No one says jack. It's all guess-work and Chinese whispers.

Aren't we jumping the gun?
After all this is just a rumor from RLW.
If Bennett wanted the top job, which he said he didn't, wouldn't he have refused the support role? After all, he doesn't need the job!

Na, that rumour simply does not make any sense to me at all. Love the guy or hate him (And it does seem to be no middle ground on him), Bennett loves the game, and the international game. I would be stunned if Bennett walked. Personally, nothing the NZRL does surprises me, but IMO Bennett has such a passion for the game he knows it's great for the international game to help the Kiwis get up to speed, and to me he seems a guy that would prefer to stick in the shadows and help rather than front up to a media of a nation...two nations for that matter
