The Hagan curse is still haunting us, we had a gun in Hodgkinson but instead Supercoach threw buckets of money at Funch. Maloney is another who would be handy right now. KK and Morts are both great prospects but unfortunte for us they are both 6's.

Honestly, we haven't had a decent half back since the 80s. And guess what? We haven't won a premiership since the 80s.

Mortimer might be good in 5 years, but he is nowhere close to first grade standard. Can read the game but is too small, slow ballspeed, and lacks confidence.

Need to spends some big $$ for a #7.

Hate to keep harping on it but we had a chance to sign one and we didn't. Hope we don't pay the price for it.

Hodgo will not leave the Eagles. We had our chance - we could have had him for next to nothing - but we blew it.

Are you sure its was our halves who let us down?
To be fair Tahu was pretty bad-Made some terrible plays early in attack and dragons saved 2 certain Tries. Our forwards where out muscled. And INU in deffence did some terrible things.....

Im fairly certain that Cameron Smith would solve alot of our problems. Get us going forward, another very solid kicking game, another senior player on the field, can play in the halves at first and second reciever at a pinch. Im certain that he could really open up the field for KK, Morts and then naturally Jarryd Hayne to work off.

Its a shame we cant afford him though.

Orford is keen to come back to the NRL according to the Daily Telegraph. Any takers if we can nab him at a decent price?

Check it out here

Ando reckons Morts is more of a 7 than a 6. Said so recently on NRL Tactics on Fox.

So there you go...

I'm pretty sure Ando is a big fan of Morts at half and he has said in the past that he believes he is improving everyday and will be better in the long run. I just think we need someone to command our play and Morts isn't offering that.

Unfortuanately I can't Ando moving Morts from halfback.

Agree we need a half don't think we coukd afford cronk and I don't think we have any options with in the club. a player I'd look at is jordan rankin at the titans played first grade when he was still in high school still playing nyc with prince there for a few more years might be he might be worth a look.
Or micheal dobson over in england I heard he wanted to return to the nrl he's a good player still young.

I think we have to persist with KK and Morts.

Iv been really dissapointed with Morts so far this year, but it would do too much damage to him to drop him now.

Only way I can see either of them being dropped is if one gets injured and then Humble really rips in and holds the position.

The emotional decision to do right now would be to get rid of a bunch of players, throw a bunch of kids into grade and hope for the best. But its a gamble of very long odds. The Cowboys have tried last year I think and it just killed them, same with Cronulla.

I think we have our best team on the paddock right now. I think maybe Ant Mitchell can sqeeze Matt Keating out but that would be as far as it would go.

Gotta stick solid.

Short term pain for long-term gain, guys.

Daniel Anderson is persisting with Daniel Mortimer at halfback because he sees the kids will become a star. But he's underdone at the moment, and dropping him would set him back.

Let him continue to work on his game and in the long term, we'll be better off for it.
