Week one Finals schedule

Of course you'd then have to compensate the Sharks club for loss of income from outlets at the ground, and for loss of revenue from the licensed club. The same match up was played at Moore Park in 2017 and got 16,000, I'm not so sure a new stadium in the eastern suburbs is going to make all that much difference to what would be overwhelmingly Sharks supporters.
Isn't Sharks Leagues under construction?

All profits from finals go to the NRL.

Correct, opens up mid next year provided no more delays in construction.. which means they'll be delays in construction.

I know the club did a deal with the developers to close down the leagues club while the other work happened got paid to do it. Was deemed easier from a construction perspective rather than to do it in phases that allowed the club to be open longer.

I do miss the pre and post game beers at the leagues club.

Some stats for those so inclined...

In the 10 seasons played so far with this finals system, the following are the records for each week 1 fixture

1v4 (7-3)
2v3 (7-3)
5v8 (9-1)
6v7 (6-4)

That gives a total of 29-11 for the higher placed team. Interestingly, in the last 10 seasons of the McIntyre system the higher placed teams had a worse record at 26-14.

Under the current system, 2012 and 2020 are the only seasons where all 4 higher seeds won in week 1. 2014 had the most amount of lower seeds winning (3) with 2017 (2) the only other occasion more than 1 lower seed won.

Amazing foresight from Cronulla to get money to close down the Leagues Club.. turns out they would've had to close down the club anyway during covid.

Hah no you wouldn’t. finals belong to the nrl and they have no obligation to anyone, they can choose to play them wherever they like.
You do have a point though, having a club like the sharks in the nrl with few fans is a problem the nrl should look at.
Haha obvious hate is obvious!

lap up this sunshine… Sharks are here to stay and we love your ongoing tirades! Xx
