WEEK THREE - Melbourne 26 Parramatta 10 @ Telstra Dome

This will be a good game...Storm will be fresh from having a week off and will be very focussed.

If Storm keep to their structure and target Riddell and co with short play the balls then Folau and King will be hard to stop if Storm play an uptempo game.

Cronk will need his kicking game to be 100% because Inu and Hayne will make them pay if he kicks it directly to them in open play.

Parra will lose if Hampstead or Clark are the refs, just can't win under them
People have been complaining about refs both weeks we played in the finals this year. As i've said before, IF we're good enough we'll come through.

This will be a close game but no idea who'll win.

I hope Storm don't choke, they're the better team so far in 07.

Contest is neck-and-neck

Telstra Dome, Sunday 4pm
Here's a game that has the potential to raise the roof of Melbourne's Telstra Dome.

The competition's two best attacking teams with the Melbourne Storm's efficiency and ruthless execution versus the razzle dazzle brilliance of the Parramatta Eels.
Some of the individual match-ups are mouthwatering.
At the back, two of the best broken field runners in football today - Billy Slater up against Jarryd Hayne.
In the centres, the world's best centre Timana Tahu against the young man who will be king, Israel Folau.
Cronk v Smith, Cameron Smith v Mark Riddell are another two with stars right across the park like Inglis, Hindmarsh, Mateo, Inu, Turner, Hoffman, Moimoi. The list goes on.
These two sides have had contrasting runs leading into this match, which I'm sure will be spoken about both in preview and review.
If the Storm are victorious, many will point to their freshness having had a week off, while the Eels had to endure tough, grinding matches on the road against the very physical Warriors and the rugged Bulldogs.
If the Eels progress to the grand final, we will point to how Parramatta's tough run in had them very much battle-hardened and prepared for anything Melbourne threw at them.
By contrast, we will point to the fact that the Storm scored two big wins over the Gold Coast and then the Broncos before Parramatta honed their game in a high pressure environment.
The forward battle will be enthralling. Parramatta's pack are explosive and skilful while Melbourne's forwards are a perfectly cohesive unit who opt for efficiency over emotion.
For Melbourne, Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith hold the key, and for the Eels Riddell's work out of dummy half is vital - and they rely on Feleti Mateo to spark them off the bench.
I get the feeling in this one it may be a little piece of genius from a Slater, Inglis, Folau, Inu, Tahu or Hayne which gets their respective side to the grand final.

You should know by now that i'm an eternal pessimist.

At least you're pleasantly suprised every time something goes right ;-).

Storm will smash the Eels.

They will be mentally and physically drained after defeating the Doggies...they put all their energies into one game...and they needed to do this to beat the BULLDOGS!!

Ha Ha Ha!!!

Good luck Storm....you deserve to win this yr's premiership.

Parramatta did not break a sweat against the Choke-Dogs. We did it easy. As we will do it easy on Sunday.

Atleast Parramatta can not be considered Chokers this season as if, and thats a big IF, we lose to Melbourne, we would have lossed to the competition favourites!

The only match between the teams at Telstra Dome

2001
Parramatta 54
Storm 10
Crowd: 13,074
Ref: Paul Simpkins

I dont think we can read to much in to that game.

Slater, Folau, King, Quinn, Turner, Inglis, Cronk, Johnson, Smith, Crocker, Hoffman etc where unavailable for selection that day (due to school I think for most of them) :sarcasm: .

You'll lose after being ahead at half-time and 10 minutes to go. That's also called choking.

How you can say parra is the form team of the comp is beyond me! They played a pretty pathetic dogs outfit and imho were pretty poor themselves. The warriors game was dour and a scrappy affair. If melbourne are not considered the form team then i would imagine the cowboys should be, despite being smashed all over the park at times this year, matty bowen and Thurston are simply unstoppable and it showed against the warriors.

Storm FTW in my opinion. It'd be nice to see the Eels get up but I just can't see them challenging the Storm majorly.
