U said something then posted numbers which said opposite.
Jeez you're thick, try reading the whole posts

I said it's rich of sydney fans giving shit to regionals when you have teams like Canterbury and cronulla floundering around doing the same

And a whopping $375m from the state govt and $240m from the Feds. For a 23k seat stadium for a basic single use winter code ,when the country and its people have real financial issues. That's the part I still don't get.
I agree the fumblers do a hell of a lot financially with players and development for expansion teams.

2022 tv ratings, you can't say every sydney club is a high profile team on TV, half of them are below or on par with the regionals

1. Broncos 20.52m (avg 855,000)
2. Souths 17.71m (738k)
3. Storm 17.7m (737k)
4. Panthers 17.37m (724k)
5. Eels 17.24m (718k)
6. Sydney, 16.84m (702k)
7. Manly, 15.86m, (661k)
8. Newcastle, 14.07m, (586k)
9. Wests Tigers, 13.74m, (573k)
10. St George, 13.45m (561k)
11. Cronulla, 13.32m (555k)
12 l. Canberra,12.87m, (536k)
13. Nth Qld, 12.84m, (535k)
14. Canterbury, 12.64m (526k)
15. Gold Coast, 12.47m ,(520k)
16. New Zealand, 9.25m, (385k)
The only query I would have with those ratings ,how many were prime time for each club on Nein. For example Broncos gets the best choices just about every week ,as do Souths, as do Storm if possible.Yes I've allowed for Fox.
Comparing city and regional ratings is at times bit iffy IMO.Also position on the ladder a big influence as well as overall club interest /supporter base. 2023 may show a different picture last the end of business.
I understand it's all we can go on.

Townsville is the only regional market in the NRL that doesn’t share it’s market with another major professional sports team, and the reasons why are pretty self evident.

All the regional markets are more likely to be expansion targets for other leagues in the future than the markets in Sydney other than possible CBD/generic Sydney teams and Parramatta/generic Western Sydney teams.

Now answer me this; why aren’t Manly, Cronulla, Penrith, etc, represented in any other professional competitions?
You’ll never admit it, but we both know the answer.
Manly and Penrith have union sides
Cronulla had Sydney Olympic

why doesn’t Canberra have an afl side ?

Tenth out of 16 isn't really all that much to brag about lol

5 Sydney sides are in the top half
And if you were starting the comp from fresh that's probably how many Sydney teams you would have imo

That'll ruffle some feathers 😂

So I think I get the gist of this argument.

People want expansion but only 2 metro areas.

I throw in my 2 bobs worth: a metro area that is not league heartland should be counted as regional.

So no expansion to Perth or Adelaide.

If you were starting a comp from fresh all the Sydney clubs would be on their own and not have to carry the regional clubs tv don’t want to show lol

all regional game vs all Sydney game (ignore fta)

Perth and Adelaide will transform the nrl when the storm apparently did not

Do you really think NRL would be getting big broadcast deals with mainly regional teams??

20k watch in Melbourne & that place has population of 6 million. Perth is less than a third of that & Adelaide just over a sixth. This is why TV wants Brisbane more

Less ppl in regional centers hence less ppl watching those games. Should be simple for most to understand

Pippen's ideal NRL = 9 teams in Sydney and 4 teams in Brisbane and then close up shop. No teams for anywhere else.
Has anyone told him he could just watch the nsw cup?

Id suggest the qld cup too but probably too many regional teams for his liking
