no, they have played at waca, subi oval then optus. They arent stupid enough to play even one game in a little suburban stadium when they have a world class one on the doorstep, they arent an NRL team!
Yeh they played at that Subiaco oval when west coast were at the other ground

please go and buy a clue! West coast have only played at Subi and Optus. Dockers moved to Optus when it was completed along with Eagles.
In no way shape or form would they be stupid enough to not be playing at Optus and play 25% of games at Fremantle oval! That level of stupidity is reserved for NRl clubs in Sydney and Brisbane who refuse to take advantage of the gifts the Govt gives them!

eh? Dockers played a couple of years at waca then moved to subi. eagles played at subi., Then they both moved to optus. Which is totally irrelevant to the fact a supposed Brisbane NRL club today chooses to play 25% of games in small stadium when Suncorp is sitting there. No Perth AFL club would be that stupid.

Not sure your point? Freo play all games at Optus, they dont take some to a shtty little ground in Fremantle.

They should be called the WA or West Coast or Western. Not Perth. Just not 'the'.
But.. but.. how are they going to engage support from the whole city when they are from a specific corner... and they'll also alienate people from Fremantle by playing at a stadium 30 mins away...

Wait, none of that happened...

Remember when he said Brisbane should only have one team a few years ago?

All of his opinions are based around what's best for Perth. He ignores reality and creates convoluted and unequal prerequisites to suit his agenda. In his f**ked up head it's okay for Melbourne and Perth to have bugger all juniors and terrible TV ratings.

It's the ARLC's fault that Victorians aren't interested in playing RL.

Rugby league is a minority sport in Perth because the ARLC doesn't give it enough money.

He rants about the Eagles being the largest, richest and best supported sports club in the country, yet ignores the fact it generates only half as many TV viewers in Perth than the Broncos do in Brisbane. The Lions draw more viewers in Brisbane than AwFuL games in Perth that don't involve the Eagles and Dockers. Apparently we need a Perth team to get more money from the broadcasters, despite Perth generating some of the lowest TV ratings across the country for live sport.

Imagine arguing for a Perth club in before the dolphins

sheer madness

you can easily make the case that brisbane 3 would be a better choice than Perth as well

easts are another sleeping giant waiting to get the green light

Hmm crowds, membership and revenue. Tick tick tick. yeh Eagles are biggest pro club in Australia, maybe a couple of the Melbourne afl clubs up there as well. NRL clubs not even close sadly. We3ll unless you believe Roy Morgan lol

Its the ARLC's job to grow participation and interest in the sport across Australia and fund the sport accordingly. Last time I looked that includes WA and Victoria.

Brisbane Tigers are the most viable bid in Australia. Phil Gould listed Brisbane 3 as the only bid in Australia that can field a viable entity in the NRL.

There's a lot of New South Welshmen living in Brisbane. More than Perth. A third Brisbane team will allow NSWRL fans in Brisbane to see their team play in SEQ more often. An NRL game not featuring a Queensland team draws better ratings in Brisbane than an AwFuL game in Perth that involves the Eagles or Dockers. That stat alone shows how worthless the Perth market is to the broadcasters and ruins Perth Red's rhetoric about the game needing Adelaide and Perth to catch up to AwFuL.

Lets put in another club into a market already serviced market becasue there's sydney people living there. Thats NS Bears level logic lol

Come back to me when a Brisbane NRL club can get even close to a Perth AFL club in fans and revenue.

Giving fans of Sydney clubs even more access to RL should be the games highest priority.

What relevance does the Eagles' membership base, attendances and revenue have on a Perth-based NRL team, Dolphins or a third Brisbane team?

Are you naive enough to think it means a Perth-based NRL team will draw similar support from the city as the Eagles?

If anything it probably works against a Perth-based NRL team. With so much money and support tied up with the Eagles there's going to be very little available for an NRL club.

The poor viewing figures for the Eagles and Dockers in Perth is the only metric that matters to the broadcasters. They want a team that will increase the amount of eyeballs watching NRL games. AwFuL games not featuring the Eagles and Dockers only draw 15k more viewers in Perth than games not featuring the Lions and Suns in Brisbane. It's highly unlikely that a game featuring a Perth-based NRL team will increase viewership in Perth by more than 10-15k. Any increase in Perth will be offset by a decline in viewers across Brisbane and Sydney.

yeh Eagles are biggest pro club in Australia, maybe a couple of the Melbourne afl clubs up there as well. NRL clubs not even close sadly. We3ll unless you believe Roy Morgan lol

All of this is irrelevant to the value of a Perth-based NRL club. Nor does it offer any insight on the value of the Dolphins and a third Brisbane team. The Dolphins averaged 126k viewers in Brisbane this year, despite struggling on the field. The Eagles averaged just 74k in Perth. We can conclude that the Dolphins are more valuable to the broadcasters than the Eagles.

Its the ARLC's job to grow participation and interest in the sport across Australia and fund the sport accordingly. Last time I looked that includes WA and Victoria.

What makes you think that participation and interest can be bought?

The game has invested in Melbourne and Perth. The problem is most people in these cities aren't interested in playing the game. Nor are they interested in anything below Origin and the GF. Despite the millions AwFuL has spent on the Lions, the only time I watch them play is when they're in a preliminary final or GF.

You're shifting the goalposts because the facts don't support your rhetoric about the "need" for a Perth-based team.

Using your faulty logic, we should ignore all bids from Perth because none of them will have the same amount of support as the Eagles.

You've earned your reputation as an AwFuL fan.

Every thread becomes a Perth thread. Perth is clearly the most popular option. Bring back the Reds.
Perth living rent free in donkeys head since 2020 apparently

His logic seems to be that because Broncos and Dolphins are smaller clubs than Eagles and Dockers perth shouldnt have an nrl team. You try and figure it out lol
