Since the Hayne plane landed, they've been a place for merc to cash in on a payday, those days i reckon are gone since Holbrook stepped in
Apparently at training he and a few others would get the tackling bags and throw them over the fence

Many of you know that in his autobiography Artie Beetson dreamed about the dolphins playing roosters in NRL & now it has happened

This reminds me of a question I heard asking which city in the world is interesting that has no real history?!

Redcliffe & existing clubs bring history, their own story & rivalries. Think about the jets whose history probably takes in bulimba cup or the wellington orcas who've been a long time presence in the national kiwi comp.

Interesting article in courier today saying Vlandys wouldnt have admitted the dolphins if they didn’t get Wayne as coach. Seems weird deciding factor and not exactly strategic long term planning by nrl in its decision making lol

and their own baggage that may put off fans of rival brl clubs supporting them.

I think its too early to be hitting the panic button (or breaking out the champagne).

A few things have certainly worked against the Dolphins, a relentlessly negative press campaign, an incredibly short time to establish a club and we are living in a post pandemic world.

My expectation is that they will organically grow over the next few seasons

QLDers and Brisbanites in particular are slow to adopt a new team, I remember almost no-one was a Broncos fan in Round 1 in 1988, and even had a strong distaste for them initially, it took a period of winning before they really got adopted properly.
The Dolphins are just another shitbox suburban club to go along with all the other wastes of space squatting on licenses in this league, and choosing them for the 17th was a total waste of potential and demonstrates the total lack of ambition both the NRL, and RL in general, has.

Odds are that the Bears will get the 18th license as well given the track record of the current NRL administration, because you know, nothing exists outside of Sydney and SEQ lmfao.

Maybe the Dolphins should add the poinsettia logo of the Brisbane Combined team to their jersey?

Adopt the name "Brisbane Dolphins". Play all games at Lang Park. Build a high performance training centre at Davies Park and take ownership of the ground. It's right on the river. Dolphins swim up the Brisbane River. A great place for "Brisbane 2" to be based.

Magpies haven't been relevant in 40 years.

I'll tell the potato posse what doesn't exist out of NSW and QLD: players.

So you can put your teams in Perth, Adelaide, Singapore, Port Moresby, Ouagadougou, or anywhere else that gives you a dot on the map boner but where are you poaching the players from (using Melbourne as an example, the next 25 years and counting)? That’s right, the 'shitty' little suburban clubs you despise so much.

I couldn’t agree more. Plopping a new franchise team in a city/town/region that doesn’t have an existing team in the NRL is ideal for places like Perth, Adelaide etc. but for Brisbane it’s not.
even a rebranding of East’s to Firehawks is a stretch. Some people here have no idea what it means for the Dolphins to be in the flight again, You could feel the emotion and passion coming through the TV. You look at that crowd and you had 30k true Diehard Dolphins fan. A new pop up team like the Bombers or even the Firehawks would’ve felt completely different and I think would eventually end up in a Titans like situation. You can’t replicate 75 years of a club overnight.

Where have 32 of the 36 man dolphins team come from? Where have next years signings come from? Here’s a clue, it’s not Redcliffe lol
players now come from Anywhere and everywhere. funnily Storm have debuted more nrl players than most “heartlands” clubs.

Hopefully won’t happen but let’s see how that crowd holds up. The chants for Redcliffe were funny though.

How can they come from themselves if they just started you pineapple? Yiu expect them to run out their Queensland cup side?

As for Melbourne how many players from Victoria have played for Melbourne. And before your nonsense about not being Melbourne's responsibility blah blah f**king blah, if someone isn't doing someone do you just sit back and say 'not my job'? No, you do it yourself.
Melbourne have added barely a drop to the player pool during their existence.

f**k know why i respond to you, you've probably got your tanktop on and haunting people with talk about flags and behinds and other afl crap afl fans talk about.
