Hurry up and link with the bears already FFS, cant get any more third party than that, it will blow AFL out of the water in terms of expansion potential, a resurgence in tongues wagging on media headlines, it will be the biggest sporting news in Australia, if they sort out the bid... west coast bears, get it doneThe State Budget has allocated $500,000 across the next two years for a scoping study into a National Rugby League Franchise in Perth.
Despite the belief WA is an AFL State, the push for an NRL team was launched in October last year by a cross-agency government working group.
The quest to find a third-party bid comes amid expectations the NRL will expand to 18 teams from 17 after next season.
Is WA ready for its own rugby league team?

dont be so sure, tne fact they’ve committed $1/2million would suggest it is to support the development of the bid and business case when nrl calls for it in next two years. I doubt they’d have bothered announcing the funding commitment Unless the nrl had given them the nod to get ready,NRL wants to expand.
WA wants a team.
WA state govt wants the team.
WA state govt in huge surplus.
Why do I feel Pasifixa is in the bag?
I dunno, there's a lot of dumbarses in govt and the NRL.dont be so sure, tne fact they’ve committed $1/2million would suggest it is to support the development of the bid and business case when nrl calls for it in next two years. Apart from the wa govt and a cumins led consortium?Coz Perth doesn't have a backer
You don’t understand the connection between the skull and cross bones and pirates?Hopefully Perth realises that this is the big leagues and you can't stick your hand out to the NRL for extra cash or salary cap concessions when things get tough.
If they do get in they have to get rid of that logo which is the ugliest, corniest thing in sports. Are you a pirate or a f**king skull?
