It wasn't was it? I am sure it came from play down the left side as per usual, that's how most of our goals have been scored this season..

Ah, you'd know better than me. As I said, I tuned in at 1-0 and got to watch us play like sh*t for the better part of the game. Makes sense that it came from the left. If we had another decent striker fit and someone capable of doing anything down the right side and some half decent centre backs - we'd be golden :p

I record all our games if i can so i will go and have a look at it tomorrow but i am sure it was a move down the left by McCartney who had come forward as he does..

I can't recall the last time we scored from a set piece.. Stupid Bowyer had a plumb chance last night when they finaly put a ball into a good position from a corner but he missed by a fair bit...

Hopefully Solano will be handy for us in the midfield, he hit the post when the ball bounced back off their keeper and looked decent when he got his chance.. Pretty solid debut for us..

Still shaking my head that we somehow won that game then i have to laugh when i remembr it was 3-1 and could easily have been 4-1 when Boa Morte was one on one with the keeper in the last minute of stoppage time.. That would have been unfair on them a 4-1 score line...

I thought Solano looked like a new face. I'd certainly never heard his name mentioned before. At full strength, we've got a damn formidable outfit. It's just a matter of getting there

Don't be so hard on him Lolesi.. He got it on target, doesn't matter how as it's a first for him... :)

I couldn't stop laughing when the commentary team commented on him being taken off injured. Something about his potential and all he had to offer the game.

So we have Portsmouth away this week.. Not much positive news on the injury front still though.. Parker was due back in the reserves but re hurt himself so add another month onto him coming back. On a more positive note Nigel Quashie is fit and will/has played in the reserves.

I think we may be in some trouble on this trip away, although with start striker Carlton Cole on deck you just never know.. Clearly the trick is for him to not actually be looking at the goal when he is trying to score, any time he is looking he shoots it into row zz of the stadium..

Cmon Carlton you usless piece of cr*p :)

Anyhow, i have a wedding to attend this weekend so i will be away and will probably miss the game live given it's the last game Sunday morning but i look forward to hopefully seeing a better effort from them this weekend.. They will need more then luck against Portsmouth..

Cmon you Irons !!

Well, as per usual, thankfully Englands best Keeper plays for us...

Defense was rubbish
Attack mostly rubbish
General midfield play at times was laughable..

But they hung in there and a great penalty save by Green in the third minute of penalty time earned a 0-0 draw away at Pompey..

A very valuable and unexpected 1 point...Carling cup game this week, pretty sure it's Coventry but will have to look that up..

Cmon you Irons..

I had intended to stay up for the game, but after working an epic Saturday and knowing daylight savings would rob me of a further hour's sleep, I decided against it. From the sounds of it, I didn't miss much outside of Green's save. Still, a point against a Pompey side that's been in hot form is better than I expected.

Carlton actually did some nice things with the ball.. Did a lot of sh*te as well though...

Solano missed a couple of sitters..

Lucas played pretty well at last but Gabbidon had a shocker..

McCartney and Noble continue to impress and Green is fantastic...

Bowyer wasn't even named in the squad which was interesting and as per usual there was no Freddie, Ashton, Parker etc etc

I really can't see West Ham selling him.. There is no point, there is no one in any position who could contribute more to the team team then what green does... Despite the medias ranting last season it was Green who consistently did more to keep us up then Tevez..

I wonder what is going on down there down at Upton Park.. It seems Bellamy wasn't taken off to save getting a red card cause he was being a knob but because he was injured and will be out for a few weeks..

Ashton is not back for a few either..

Carlton Cole your time has come.. I saw some positive signs against Pompey from him the week after finally scoring a goal, lets hope i did actually see it and he continues his mini improvement..

Coventry and Bolton might be good bets for upcoming games otherwise..

I was beggining to think during the Pompey game that he may very well make me/us eat our words.. I certainly hope so but highly doubt it...

Coventry 1 West Ham 2

90th minute goal fro none other then Carlton Cole seals the win...

Yes SD another Carlton Cole goal.... At the end of the day with Bellamy Ashton and Zamora injured and Camara cup tied we only had Cole...

Good on him, he has plenty of knockers i would love to see them, including me, be shown up to be completely wrong...
