West Tigers Trial match idea

Why dont we do what Souths are doing (in playing PNG at Redfern Oval) and the Tigers play Italy in a trial match at Leichardt Oval?
Or is it against the NRL's beliefs to help international Rugby League in any way?
Italy need the prep for the World Cup. And it would have more interest than Tigers vs Penrith (or whoever they are playing) due to the Leichardt factor.
On paper Italy have a very solid team also.
Understand other teams might not want to release players for Italy as they want them part of there trials so if thats the case dont make it an official trial??

Thoughts?

I'd love to see the NRL and NRL clubs being proactive in spreading the game globally.

It's not in the best interests of the NRL, who now run the ARL it seems.

Superleague and what happened after it was when International RL began being completely ignored by Australian RL.

I'd prefer just one trial before the season starts and keep it in country regions - rather then three or four trial games. Every team would still be in the same boat preparation wise with one game under their belt.

Would greatly increase revenue with an extra three weeks of the premiership.

Weve only done two at least last year and the year before also i think

Scrap the entire trial period and start the comp 3 or 4 weeks earlier and play every other f**ker twice, even up the comp a little bit more at least....probably the only thing Ive agreed with Humpty on

itd be common sense but we need 1 trial match

also the nrl would never let us play italy at leichhardt remember we played them on the south coast years back and won by 100 , youd see souths are allowed to play a trial at redfern because they move home games to perth

The full strength italian team for the upcoming WC is miles ahead of the one we played all those years back
