I can't see Simpkins being ready but who knows. Robson played some hooker in reserve grade.

Obviously we need to get rid of someone, even if we are paying some of the freight and sign a hooker for next year.

Ive made my thoughts on Liddle pretty clear here and yes all of his injuries have been bad luck but the point is the guy cant string games together (for whatever reason) and a 17 year old back up hooker from QLD isnt the answer.

I dont care who it is we need to sign a specialist hooker.

Yep, I wonder if they will look at cancelling his contract due to injury, not sure what he would be on, but it all helps.

So who do we go after now. Even if liddle comes back mid way through next year it will be 2021 before he is fully confident in the knee and has pre season under his belt.

Issac Luke springs to mind. Is 32 so just for a year. Otherwise it would have to be Reynolds

Surely Koroisau would be first choice, but Luke could be an option. Baptiste also has permission to look elsewhere. Matt Parcell may want to come home. We should also be looking at Billy Britain and Tom Starling.

The last thing we want is to go into next season with ET as first choice hooker. We've seen how far that will get us two weeks in a row.

Luke doesnt want to leave NZ. It was in the press.

Korisau is already well bid.

Britain may be worth a look, still young and could add something to the roster rather than simply being a stop gap. And hes probably cheap.

There was something on MMM yesterday about Lawrence probably not being offered another contract. I dont buy it as hes been under the 10 year discount, but if thats the case, we will probably have some cash to buy a hooker. I love Lawrence and he has bled for this club, but we need a hooker next year more than back rowers.

The biggest issue with Lawrence is that we have 28 of the 30 spots filled and back row is the least of our concerns. I have no doubt Madge would like to keep him however we have other spots that desperately need filling

Hooker depth is a glaring issue right now, which has been the case ever since Taylor started playing stupid games by buying Matt Ballin. That's just a symptom of our salary cap problems which is the root issue, although things should get easier with Matulino, Jennings, McQueen and Taylor all coming off contract next year when our cap penalty expires. If no one else at the club is eligible for the Veteran and Developed Player Allowance, then it makes sense to re-sign Lawrence another year to take advantage of that. That brings our squad up to 29 which it can sit at until June 30.

For amusement purposes only....I could imagine spot a gap /80 minute terrier Thompson at 9 with Talau at FB

We just have to not blow our load again. If we spend our money better we can improve. It's not all bad.

I dont think we have any reason not to take the offer (cost depending). He would have to be happy with a short term contract - I'd say 1 year with a further option of 1 year in clubs favour.

That would be perfect

He is good goal kicker too

A girl at my work is married to his cousin, he still owns a house in Sydney. I’ll see if I can find out any info.
