Lol see some of us aren't fairweather fans who sell out their clubs and merge like you want us to do.

I don't particularly hate teams as such....

More those merkins who allied themselves with Superleague and morons who continually advocate for it even after the damage it did to the game.

Clubs have ups and downs as we see with the Panthers who wouldn't be here if Balmain didn't fold.

Neither team is vital.

No one would miss either of them if they up and went to afl tomorrow.

Just like all the clubs bar Bulldogs sent their lawyers not to let the Rabbitohs back in.

Yeah don't worry about the fans of the clubs that marched along side your team to get them back in, did you march?

You still don’t get the meaning of hypocrisy. You make baseless accusations about Politis in response to a Tigers fan, not me and I remind you that you have an owner under investigation. Again, you have nothing. Except time it seems judging by this thread history.
Dude, you had a ceo banned, a storm salary cap rorter on staff and the same bloke on your board.

Seems you don't understand the meaning of hypocrisy.

Ffs this again.

While you were marching, your club was sending its legals to have the Rabbitohs legal challenge squashed. We also asked other clubs to join the fight eg Balmain.

I'm glad many supporters had more love for rugby league then their admins did.

No I dont. Please try to keep up. I mean three years BEFORE Super League was even thought about.....1993/94. The ARL were implementing stricter criteria for admission into the ARL (NOTHING to do with SuperLEague). THAT IS WHY we had Sydney Tigers, Sydney Bulldogs etc.

It was. However the criteria established by Superleague was deliberately weighted in favour of certain clubs and, as evidenced by the Souths-Penrith example, subjectively applied.

That's your opinion. Yet you simultaneously feel fine with being owned by a Hollywood blowhard that made a pretty speech and conned a majority of members to sell out.

It's wildly inconsistent and obviously emotional justification without any actual basis in fact. The Wests Tigers history is clear and obvious, reaching back to 1908 with still existing links to the foundation clubs that they stem from.

Your feelings about it as a fan of another club are utterly irrelevant.

No I don't have a problem with it. Nor with the Penns owning Manly. Nor who the CEO is.

I don't care who the admin is so long as the club exists. The old chook raffle side of club funding has long gone.

The Wests-Balmain history is gone.

You ask any kid who the Magpies and Balmain were and they wouldn't have a clue.

It's obviously relevant because its why you keep posting.

Dude your grasp of history isn't much better than anything else you write.

Qld players had long gone to NSW and it was the reason State of Origin was launched.

Even while this was going on the BRL grew to be an incredibly strong comp.

It wasn't until the Broncos that the comp lost all it's star players.

Many ARL players at the time were being paid more than the PM. Remeber Meninga and his "what has rugby league ever done for me?"

Superleague screwed the game for years including destroying clubs like the Bears and tried to destroy the Rabbits.

Now if you're so enraged about poker machines, I take it you've taken it up with the club you support - (who also sold itself out to Superleague's millions as well as break up people's families).
FMD

I've been saying for ages that Queensland's best players were raided by the NSWRL from the 50s, so you've just illustrated you don't read what's written. It doesn't change the fact the NSWRL ramped up its efforts to buy even more players from the BRL during the 80s. With Queensland owning NSW with a team largely made up of players from the BRL and Combined Brisbane winning the National Knock Out competition, the Sydney clubs came circling for these players. Canberra in particular went after Southern Suburbs Magpies. The last thing RL in Queensland could afford was to have Wally Lewis and co go south, so the QRL eventually bit the bullet and accepted Arthurson and Quayle's offer so that people in Brisbane could see Wally and co at least once a fortnight.

Do yourself a favour and watch this documentary about the BRL. That'll bring you up to date on history.

Mate you MUST be a troll. What I am talking about has NOTHING, NADA, ZIP to do with Super League. If Super LEague had never happened, it would not have impacted what I am talking about.

I'll say it ONE more time, simply because this is the WHOLE point of me wasting this time in the thread and its mindblowing that you dont get it.

I was talking about why Balmain changed their name to Sydney Tigers (also Canterbury and Roosters). It had NOTHING to do with SL. In 93/94 the ARL told the clubs that by 97 they were going to apply a set of criteria that the clubs had to meet in order to continue in the ARL (Not SL, Not NRL). The clubs were given 3 years to get their acts together and then they would be judged against the ARL criteria (1993). It was to meet these criteria that Balmain changed their name (and other things).

IF you dont understand this, if you dont understand it had nothing to do with SL....if you continue to ramble about the post SL criteria or Penrith, then you are a moron or a troll and I CBF working out which.

Can you provide any links to this other accusation of yours that all admins bar Canterbury’s, had their lawyers gunning for Souths? I mean, in George Piggins’ book, he mentions his respect and friendship for Politis and how he helped Souths on the charity night raising money for court action. Can’t imagine Easts using their lawyers to block Souths after that. But please, enlighten me.
