Mate you MUST be a troll. What I am talking about has NOTHING, NADA, ZIP to do with Super League. If Super LEague had never happened, it would not have impacted what I am talking about.

I'll say it ONE more time, simply because this is the WHOLE point of me wasting this time in the thread and its mindblowing that you dont get it.

I was talking about why Balmain changed their name to Sydney Tigers (also Canterbury and Roosters). It had NOTHING to do with SL. In 93/94 the ARL told the clubs that by 97 they were going to apply a set of criteria that the clubs had to meet in order to continue in the ARL (Not SL, Not NRL). The clubs were given 3 years to get their acts together and then they would be judged against the ARL criteria (1993). It was to meet these criteria that Balmain changed their name (and other things).

IF you dont understand this, if you dont understand it had nothing to do with SL....if you continue to ramble about the post SL criteria or Penrith, then you are a moron or a troll and I CBF working out which.
Dude you've blatantly lied on here about Souths sponsorship.

So the troll is you.

I've already said that the Sydney City Whatevers was a stupid and ridiculous idea.

Look how well it worked for the Tigers and Dogs.

Neither was the criteria administered by the ARL in 99 the same as 93 nor applied consistently.

That was Superleague....you'd have to be a moron or a troll and I CBF working out which.

Ffs this again.

While you were marching, your club was sending its legals to have the Rabbitohs legal challenge squashed. We also asked other clubs to join the fight eg Balmain.

I'm glad many supporters had more love for rugby league then their admins did.

Yeah mate, your getting into fans though not the admins. Get over yourself.

Easts changing their name to Sydney made sense. They're based in the City of Sydney. If you're not from NSW then you don't care about playing a team called "Easts", but when you play "Sydney" it means something.

It's not the NSWRL anymore @Mr Spock!, we need brands that people from all over the country and world can identify with because they mean something. We live in a global world and need to market our teams and game to as many people as possible if we want to survive against the EPL, NFL, NBA, MLB, IPL, La Liga and every other major league that kids watch.

Can you provide any links to this other accusation of yours that all admins bar Canterbury’s, had their lawyers gunning for Souths? I mean, in George Piggins’ book, he mentions his respect and friendship for Politis and how he helped Souths on the charity night raising money for court action. Can’t imagine Easts using their lawyers to block Souths after that. But please, enlighten me.

"142. This is an appeal against the judgment of the learned primary judge refusing Souths the relief it sought and dismissing its[2000] FCA 1541 and (2000) 177 ALR 611, his Honour dealt comprehensively with a large number of issues raised by the parties. Souths has isolated a limited number of issues determined by his Honour and has raised them again in this appeal. So too have the respondents, News, National Rugby League Investments Pty Ltd (``NRLI''), Australian Rugby Football League Limited (``ARL''), National Rugby League Limited (``NRL'') and fifteen companies who field teams in the competition which, by notices of contention, canvassed his Honour's conclusions about a limited number of additional issues."

Are you John Ribot?

Because you sound a lot like that moron.

You mean like Liverpool? I mean its obviously important to followers of the EPL where all these British cities are.

Is Liverpool even a city?

What about Chelsea and Arsenal?

Or West Ham and Tottenham.

Better change your names to London 1 and London Hammers because no one knows who you are.

Hey Eels you have to change your name because some kid in china doesn't know who you are.

Why don't Manly change their name to the Northern Eagles???

Oh and you can f**k brands right off

Heard this bs all before derp.

You're bringing up old arguments from a disastrous war.

Oh yeah now we're at war with EPL, NFL, NBA and La Liga (whatever the f**k that is - they'd better work on their marketing). Don't forget Ice Hockey in Toronto, Russian Paraplegic Gymnastics and the Scottish Caber toss, and the Mongolian Rolling Marathon for people with no arms or legs.

I'm yet to see a kid that watches any of them.

Ta. I have a vague memory of it now. I have another vague memory where Piggins (quoted on radio) had an agreement with Canterbury that should Souths get kicked out, they’ll turn control of their junior base over to them as well as a much-hyped, young player called Anasta? Do you reckon that had something to do with Canterbury not being a signatory? Not withstanding that they knew full well that by not signing would do anything to save Souths. You might have more insight on that.

It's not opinion mate.

Kids don't know who Balmain or Western Suburbs Magpies are.

It's pretty sad really.
My 8 year old knows. The Balmain and magpie crests are literally on the back of our Jerseys now, with the magpie on the sleeve.

You're living in a fantasy land, mate.

Carry on though...
