Wests Tigers, Wests Magpies, CanbRaiders

How does Wests Magpies (PL) affiliation with Canberra in 08 affect player availability for Wests Tigers in the NRL? Can players such as Gallant, Rysko, & Cutler (God help us), be promoted to West Tigers or do they go to the Raiders NRL side if called upon? Can they play for either or even both? I'm confused.

One would feel that any player in coach sheens plans for the 08 nrl season not selected in the nrl side will play for ryde eastwood in premier league and not western suburbs.

There have been instances in the past where Magpie players have been chosen in the NRL side ahead of Balmain players. Gallant was definitely one example last year. Beau Ryan may have also been promoted from the Magpies PL side - not too sure. There are probably others too. I can see Rysko knocking on the door at some stage.

 Only to those who do not understand the sheer idiocy of the Wests board. The fossils there are bringing a once proud club to it's knees

It's about time for this merger to split. Put a premiership win against both clubs and move on.

Wests have the financial might to stand alone and a heap of area full of juniors.

Balmain would struggle as they have a small Leagues club, a stadium in continual need of repair and have let their juniors go from very strong participation levels to very poor over the past decade.

Speaking of inept management- isn't the CEO Monk a Tigers man?

Let's see champ..

I've played in the Balmain Juniors since I was 9. So I've quite experienced to make a judgement on the poor participation levels of the Balmain Juniors.

I live in the South West and see they are better prepared to finance themselves with their Leagues Club'S and plentiful juniors to pick from.

Wasn't Monk the Balmain Accountant?

Yep- I've no idea.

The merger is failing due to poor management it's obvious, and they don't look like they are going anywhere in a hurry either.

Please explain how the "merger" is supposedly failing.
