Now if only the Magpies bit the bullet and went back to the old Black jersey with the 2 white V's. While they're at it, the odd "retro" fixture at Lidcombe or Ashfield wouldn't go astray.

That's what this great game lacks. Tradition. Hopefully they will one day sooner rather than later, return to the Black and White 'V'.

I agree that it'd be good to see the maggies in their traditional jersey again.

I don't actually mind their new jersey design but it doesn't really suit a traditional club. Besides, for a more petty whinge, the fact that the design continues onto the back makes it downright impossible to read jersey numbers.

It is good to see Balmain wear a jersey they were associated with for over 25 years. I'd love Wests to join in and maybe the Bears with the red and black hoops. Every week would be a time warp in Premier League.

What about 1 game a year at Lidcombe or Pratten Park? Both grounds are still enclosed. Also, given the assocation with the Wests Ashfield club it could be a goer.

I didn't like that one Wests had in the late 1990s with those horizontal stripes on one shoulder. Also a bad move.

Black with White "V"s (I believe it is two V's, one thin and one thick) is the way to go.

I remember a retro one they wore at the SCG v St George with the 3 white stripes across the front. Another classy one for the Maggies.

The reason the victa ones look so good is the point of the v shows. All the later designs just cut it off at the top of the sponsor and I reckon it looks sh!te. But for REAL tradition it's black and white hoops. Still looks a treat to me.

One jersey I would like to see is something like the Dragons though. A single and very deep V. We had a similar jersey in 40 I think. All black with a single big white v or black on white - either way works for me.

As for games at Lidcombe or Pratten - well no one f*cking goes as it is. Why would the club want to turn away the few Campbelltown fans we do get? We only get 5 stinking stand alone games as it is thanks to the crappy draw. I loved Lidcombe as it was the home of my beloved Magpies, but really, it's a crap place to watch a game from. With 30 people and a dog it's hopeless.

If you want to get some Magpie spirit just come to our Campbelltown games and join in the singing, or get to the traditional grounds when we have our stand alones at NSO, Leichhardt, Henson and Brookvale. No one goes to these either.
