Makes you wonder why they don't just make it the round 1 regular season game. So that the big crowd actually counts towards someones average crowd.

I think the answer is that it is Fox sports idea and they want the game to drive subscriptions in Qld. Hence the "fox has exclusive rights" in every article you read on the game. If they made it regular season Nine would want in on it.
