Why was Bourbon so expensive compared to the other spirits? (like almost 40% more!)

There was a bourbon shortage after world war 2.

It was after 1966 - so at least 21 years since the war, the bourbon shortage would have been over by then. I don’t think bourbon was popular till the 80s. They also have Australian whiskey on the list which would have been Corio (I throw up at the mere thought of it)

Corio went broke in 1980 so the coaster is between 1966 and 1980. Also the measures are in ounces pre metrification, which started in the early 70s - so likely late 60s
