Some photos of RL Games in Russia, first game was Russia Vs USA in 2002, got a decent crowd, reports between 20,000 to 30,000 at the Luzhniki Stadium

That game is one of the most significant games in Origin history in my opinion. The first post Wally match, first game with Daley as captain, first game with Gould in charge, the start of a very dominant NSW period capped of with Benny's inspirational performance.

Yeah I don't remember the game much at the time but recall seeing images on Ch 7 sports show of Benny Elias with blood on his face.

Years later I realised what it meant. It captured what Origin is about.

A head knock with blood coming down wasn't going to stop Elias.

I vaguely remember Daley knocked himself out. I remember an ad around the time with him in it saying he would rather put himself in a coma for NSW than lose. Imagine that these days.

Yeah that rings a bell... I have this recollection it might have been a missed shot at penalty goal by NSW and Trevor Gilmeister was in possession of the ball and coming out of the QLD in goal. Daley launched himself at him trying get him trapped in goal but knocked himself the f**k out... Probably completely wrong but that's the play that came to mind...
