The Metropolis Soundtrack (1984).

This album is much maligned. Possibly fairly so. But as a kid of the 1980s, a lot of great artists released their 'Eighties sounding' albums which funnily will always have a soft spot in my ears and heart because they were 'my' albums. And sure, artists like Rod Stewart, Elton John, Paul McCartney had classic albums prior, and more commercially successful 'authentic' albums later, this era is the one I grew up with.

Same goes with Metropolis. A monolith of a film and finally at a place where it's almost complete and remastered.

But in 1984, Girorgio Moroder and friends released a pop rock album soundtrack. I had it, I love it.

Nickelbacks new album 'Feed the Machine' dropped on Friday. It's AMAZING! It's up with their best.

The hate they receive is so unwarranted imo.

always intrigued by anything Girorgio Moroder does, love playing the Midnight Express soundtrack, it is so haunting.

Girorgio Moroder produced this for Olivia Newton John back in 1992, it was just before she was diagnosed with her first breast cancer :(

This was playing on my ipod today while I was giving a customer a price quote on alcohol today, she said to me it was a pleasure to be looked after so well and having such a good radio station playing hearing songs like this and Suzi Quatro a bit earlier, I just nodded, it was actually my ipod playing lol.

Clip is not the full song though

Travelling Wilburys

Great song, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty doing the vocals. Roy Orbison passed away before the actual clip was filmed, its a nice tribute having his guitar in the rocking chair next to his picture when his vocals are heard.

Any country & western fans out there?? Have been listening to an older album by Alan Jackson - Like red on a rose. So many great songs that find my ear when I'm travelling and add something to my journey. And the album cover tells its own story.
