Going through a Brit Pop phase listening to the likes of:
Tears for Fears
Spandau Ballet
Simple Minds
Human League
Thompson Twins
Thoroughly enjoying it.

You should also check out (if you haven't already):
The Psychedelic Furs
Ultravox
The Fixx
Wang Chung
Nik Kershaw
Rupert Hine
Blancmange
Yazoo
Depeche Mode
ABC
Big Country
Duran Duran
Fisher Z
A Flock of Seagulls
Gary Numan
Japan
Orchestral Manœuvres in the Dark (OMD)
Talk Talk
Yazoo
XTC

And slightly different - The Cocteau Twins and Siouxsie and the Banshees.

And from Europe but of that era:
Alphaville
A-Ha
Hubert Kah
Münchener Freiheit
Baltimora
Falco

America:
Missing Persons

And an Australian Matt Moffitt with his album As Little As A Look (I love Heathen Kind and Miss This Tonight) and also a band called Real Life.

That ‘new wave’ was a truly great era led by some classic Brit bands. Whenever I hear that music it takes me back to high school discos, shy girls & plenty of Andrew Ridgely ‘Wham’ haircuts.
And welcome back TMH.

I loved wham too lol.

Andrew Ridgeley's 1990 album The Return of Albert is quite good. Shake is a great song.

But the Era 1980_1986 was quite strong. A lot of those bands get derided, especially AFOS but they had some good pop rock tracks out there and not just I Ran.

Plenty of gems to be found.

EDIT: Of course I neglected to say that The Police and Men At Work can go in the list too.

EDIT 2 : Another song that came out probably 1988 but would fit that era well is When In Rome with The Promise. And Kon Kan's I Beg Your Pardon.

I don't half mind Taylor Swift's new synth pop song Gorgeous.

I haven't studied the lyrical content...but I love the sound of it.
