What did we learn tonight

As I posted in the other thread:

Our biggest problem is no attack. At times we went to the line with no options and the Tigers rushed up in numbers.

When will they learn that we cannot play bash and barge over sides? Especially the Tigers.

When we began to play with a little more width and interchange of passing it troubled the Tigers but there was far too little of it.

I mean when I saw Hindmarsh hitting it up on tackle 2 with no one within 10m of him. A predictable set play on the next and then a dummy half run on the next in the attacking zone, I was tearing my hair out.

Where is the passing at the line? Where are the offloads? Where are the support players?

Last year when a player went to the line there were options everywhere and this thinned the defensive line, last night as in the first two games it was too much one out and the defence compressed and rushed up.

We didn't make them work in defence and didn't make them make decisions, they knew what was coming and it was hit ups one out predictable plays. No second phase!

Cayless to go to the line with support players and look to pass before the line. He is useless unless this occurs. He shouldn't always pass but if there are multiple bodies running at the line they can't compress and get numbers in tackle, which causes dominate tackles.

I agree with that, he started doing it last year and it made a big difference to his game, he hasn't really done that this year.

I didn't so much learn anything, I just had something confirmed - up until now, I think Poore is a dud. Starting to wonder if he is related to Bobby Lindner......

This was most apparent in last year's semi between Brisbane and St George when Nick Kenny absolutely demolished him time after time. As you stated nothing new to learn there. Oh, and in origin when the two old QLD props played all over our props game after game after game. Why did the Dragons let him go??

Sorry but he's no mug. All of our pigs have been dominated in the past 3 weeks. We need to find some room for these guys to run at. At the moment the defence is hitting them almost as they catch the ball.

It boils down to enthusiasm. The 3 teams we have played so far wanted it far more. Last week we profited from Hayne stepping up and the ref f**king up. So count ourselves lucky we're not 0-3.

Hopefully we can get some momentum over time, because they look not as sharp as other sides.

bahahaha we must have bought have the eels team to the sharks (Kelly, Cordoba, Wright, Mannah, Tautai, Smith (maybe), Gardner, etc). U guys had some good juniors comin through
