What do people think about Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks fanatics???

I admire any dedicated group of supporters, even if it is the Scum Sharks.. It's good for the game.

However, I think the CSSC alienate some of their other Shark fans in that I have seen a little Sharks army developing with some flags, signs etc and it is completely separate to this T shirt ensemble. What a great opportunity to combine them somehow.

I know the CSSC likes the better seats but sometimes you need to sacrifice a little to build something big and find a middle ground. The colour of the flags would be a nice combo with some chanting from the CSSC.

And finally, the T-Shirts are f**kin embarrassing. Get yourselves some jerseys, you spend countless funds on travelling etc. Get some jerseys into the mix, help your club and grow your army.

League is all the better for core groups of fans and as much as I hate groups like the Dogs Army and the Burrow, I respect them.

Actually, we don't need to spend all that much traveling. Want to know why? Because we're very well sponsored. But our sponsors aren't going to hand over cheques if we're not showing their logos.

I appreciate the interest from other club's fans, but we really don't need to be told how to run our supporters club.

Maybe, but don't blame us when it comes across as if you're representing your supporters groups' interest over your clubs'.

How we appear to other clubs' fans is of no interest to us. You're welcome to your opinion, but it's irrelevant.

What we value is the opinion and input of the actual Sharks club, and we work very closely with them to ensure that we aren't cannibalising their funds.

I don't see how displaying a jersey that isn't the clubs is beneficial to the club, financially or appearance-wise.
Happy to be corrected though.

I mean really, if you're working as closely with the club as you claim to be, why wouldn't you aim to get the same club sponsors (e.g. Coldwell Banker, PKF, Schweppes etc) to also sponsor the supporters group, instead of other companies, whom you could simply encourage to contribute to the club directly instead of a group that doesn't actually make the club money?

And if you really didn't care, why would you keep responding to people whose opinions are irrelevant? ;-)

Sorry - first off, let me clarify. I respond because I have an interest in defending what we do. We, as a supporters club, have no interest in what rival clubs fans say, and we would never allow how the club is run be affected by that.

Now, onto the other points you raise - you seem to be mostly concerned about two things: money and image.

In terms of money, you have no idea how we are set up financially and how we're linked to the Sharks club. You also have no idea who we have spoken to with regards to sponsorship, what our aims are, or what sort of dollar figures we're even talking about.

In terms of image: well, wearing our shirts rather than the clubs jerseys isn't necessarily ideal. However, as I said, we have sponsors and we need to look after them. Without our sponsors we wouldn't be able to offer deals to our members like $15 for tickets to Brookvale Oval, return bus fare and beverages inclusive.

Ultimately, the club hierarchy loves us, the players love us, the coaching staff love us and we love doing what we do. We're not about to throw that in because a couple of nuffies on an internet message board think we should ditch the shirts.

CSSC are definitely one of the top 3 supporters groups in the game.

The only problem I have with them is that they produce their own merch. Great for them to make their own money, but could be better spent on a certain piece of club merchandise, be it a certain type of polo or jersey they can all wear to identify themselves.

Dunno if this will make any sense, but:

IMO all supporter groups in football (any variety) should be completely independent of the club they support.

The club should be sucking up to the supporters, not the other way round.

If this means wearing their own jerseys, then so be it..

we respond because you sprout stuff that is completely untrue

formally known as 'the sharks finatics' are those people with the banners and flags actually existed before the CSSC but never got off the ground and most of the finatics members have moved across to the CSSC [i was one of them]

CSSC sponsors are actually local shire businesses

](*,) wtf - "get yourselves some jerseys"? you have no idea how much sharks merch we actually own..i along with others actually wear sharks merch underneath the cssc shirt, so put an end to the "get some club merch" cause its BS to say we dont own any..END IT :x just because you cant see it, does not mean we dont own it..a day does not go by when i dont wear some form of sharks merch, hell my room is a farkin shrine to the sharks

the interests go hand in hand. the cssc are season ticket holders, they fundraise in cronulla mall. theyll probably all buy th new jersey dirctly from the club.
if they didnt have the sponsorship, or show it off..well then they wouldnt be unique. they wouldnt have the resources to do what they do. theyd pretty much b the same as every other supporter group. why be the same?
