this would be their lower grades we're talking about, would it? The Broncos juniors and the Young Guns used to play in the Sydney comp, does that make them sydney juniors?

you'd have to give me an example of the so-called dribble.

What I usually see is people being offended by the arrogant, obnoxious comments made by the likes of Cogburn and RLE.

With all due respect, it was the Roosters fans who were confronted by the fact that teh Roosters are worse without Fittler than the Kinights are without Johns... despite that you all are quick to point out that the Knights are gone if Joey is hurt...

i didnt want to reply, but F*!K ME you rooster fans are stupid, next u will say that Davico and Woolford arent local Raiders because they come from the shire of Young,

umm yes i will say they aren't your juniors - they do not play in your junior competition - now if you had said Yass then I would agree - now are you going to say you own all of NSW south of Goulburn??

I would suggest now you are now going to claim Wagga, Temora, Gundagai, Junee, Batlow, Cootamundra, Harden, Adelong, Albury, Tumut, as your juniors too!! After all they play in the same group as Young - tell me what have the Raiders done for them and if they are so great why did Harden fold this year...why is Yass considering moving out of the Canberra Compeition??

I think you need a reality check!!

I think we better claim all those areas before you roosters get there to claim it as your junior district. But tell me, what NRL side is the closest to Young etc. Gee I Wonder. Sit In The Corner ozzie and shut up..u belong there.

He just argues for arguments sake. I really should ignore him. His stupidity knows no bounds. Andrew Johns is not a Newcastle junior. This coming from a Rorter supporter too. They claim people like Craig Wing and Michael Crocker as their juniors, yet they think Andrew Johns isn't a Novacastrian. Amazing really.

Mackfish it was you that started the abuse pal.

As for Cogburns point it is a valid one. As I saiod before Redcliffe, Ipswich, Burleigh all play in the BRL but are not considered Bronco juniors
Yes, probably have something to do with the fact they are affiliated with a NRL club

No it doesnt at all. Burleigh play in the BRL but you can hardly call anyone from there a Brisbane junior.

I think this stems from the fact that when we call a player a junior because they played all their junior footy (ie Jersey Flegg etc) with us then we always have the arguement that they are not "local" thrown in our face.

So in theory Johns is not a "local" junior as Cessnock is not part of Newcastle.

I just think you cant have your cake and eat it to.

Cessnock is part of the of Newcastle in RL terms, just like Fairfield is part of Parramatta, Ryde is part of Balmain, Campbelltown is part of Wests etc

ok. this is the number for Girotondo, 9388 1383. Its a shop where they sell baby stuff in Rose Bay (yes even their baby stores have poofy names!). I think a few of you need to go and buy a new bib before you slip on all the dribble coming out of your mouth.

Oh and there isnt a baby shop in Newcastle, they would have to go to Cessnock, but since that isnt in their local area it may be a bit far to travel, don't you think....

What these clowns are trying to say now is that because Cessnock is not actually in Newcastle then it is not "local". Even though Johns os a Newcastle junior, he isn't local junior. Seems they are trying to get us on a technicality. He is a Newcastle junior, that's all that matters you imposters.

Nobody's actually tried to define a "junior" here yet. is it:
A: A player who grew up or played age grade football in a club's local area
or
B: A player who was identified and developed by a club's development system as a teenager?
Or is it both?
How do you define a player from outside the local area that has been through a club's development system?

A local junior is just that, from the local area. Of course Johns is a local junior of Newcastle.

Players identified and developed from a clubs development system outside the local area cannot be classified as local juniors.

Its pretty easy when you think about what local means.

6. Benji Marshall (NZ-QLD/Wests Tigers Scholarship)

He is a Maori that played his junior Rugby Union in Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, North Island, NZ. Wests Tigers placed him at Keebra Park. I'm adding this detail because I hope he turns out for the Kiwis in international RL.

7. Scott Prince (Nth QLD Junior)

Mt Isa.

13. Scott Sattler (QLD)

Runaway Bay, Gold Coast.

14. Daniel Fitzhenry (Souths Junior)

I thought he was originally from country NSW before being signed by Souths.

16. Anthony Laffranchi (QLD/Western Suburbs Magpies Development Program)

Murwillumbah NSW?

2 Fifita Moala (fiji union came to aus wanted a game of union ended up playing league for norths qrl)

Kelston Boys High School RU, Auckland, Nth Island, NZ. Played for Mate Ma'a Tonga in RLWC.

12 Stephen Kearney (nz jnr, wests, auckland warriors)

From the Kapiti club in Paraparamu, NZ.

13 Scott Hill (canterbury bulldogs, hunter)

Forster NSW junior. Signed by Hunter Mariners, but played with Bulldogs first in 1996 due to SL losing their first court case.

14 Glen Turner (nz jnr i think, norths qrl)

Linwood junior, Christchurch, Canterbury, South Island NZ. signed by Storm to Brisbane Norths.

15 Danny Williams (north bears jnr)

Woy Woy junior, Central Coast. North Sydney signed him.

16 David Kidwell (nz junior, adelaide rams, parramatta, uk)

Hornby Panthers junior, Christchurch, Canterbury, South Island, NZ. signed by Rams to their Under 19s team.

For mine, a Junior has 2 'criteria' if you will.

1. A player that has played for a Local club. i.e a kid plays for South-Eastern or Kensington United - he is then a Souths junior.

2. Goes through from Harold Matthews, S.G Ball, Flegg and division all the way to First grade for the one club.

If that's the case the "no juniors" accusation is pretty meaningless really then as it is more important that a club actively develops players than whther they come from it's local area.

and how much money do you put in that group - fact is f11k all...

It has nothhgn to do with th Roosters - but if you want to claim juniors you have to do somethig nto develop them in their areas.. believe it or not you don't do jack shit for Albury...you don't do jack shit for Wagga - do you now get thi big picture - you can't cliam Young juniors as your own because yhoo don't do jack shit for them as well

Is there any way a Qld/Nth Qld player could quallify under Number 2? (That if they stayed in their local area?)

Can only Sydney/NSW based teams have juniors??
