Just finished watching "Her" and I found it interesting but not entirely in a positive way.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!

Firstly, it has been described as science fiction - the only glimpse of a sci-fi feel about it was it was set in the not-to-distant future with a bit of technology thrown in.

Actually it bordered on being a chick flick with a very leisurely pace.

It was more of a study of human frailty with regards to society's increasing dependence (and eventual obsession) on technology and how it undermines and ultimately replaces interpersonal relationships. This was demonstrated in the movie in a subtle way - it wasn't until the 18 minute mark that a scene containing two humans conversing occurred. Also the many scenes of people walking and oblivious to their surroundings while attached to their iPhones, OS's or whatever by an invisible umbilical cord.

Basically, "Her" was a social commentary of what is happening right now and what it will become within the next few years. Quite sad.

I can understand you post because apparently no one can understand that movie.

Seems to be a mumbo jumbo of unrelated Japanese rubbish to me. You've got to be Japanese to make sense of it apparently.

And I've never seen it.

Watched The Wolf of Wall Street - good (and hilarious) story of the f**kheads on Wall Street. Went a bit overboard with all the characters being insane dribbling assholes who were either screaming and jumping around or completely f**ked up every other scene. You could take out half the movie and call it 'Hookers & Cocaine'.

Well Oscars hardly mean anything but he deserved one more for last year in Django than this movie. In this he's either f**ked up or screaming his head off acting like an idiot.

If you mean as a person, of course. He was so f**ked up he was almost a charicature. As a character in regards to the movie, it was an awesome character and illustrated the themes well.

Does Leo look like getting it or will he be pipped at the post again?

That's entirely opinion. Dern, Eijofor and McConaughey have just as good a chance and are probably more deserving. In my opinion Leo was better in Django and Shutter Island at least, but it's silly that there's four separate acting categories anyway and they're the ones everyone makes a big deal about. The Oscars are simply about celebrities jerking each other off.

He played a f**ked up idiot that screams a lot like in every other film. Don't get the hype.

Getting dragged along to see Paranormal Activity tonight, seen the first two and thought they were shit.

Is this one just as bad?
