The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Enjoyable movie to watch but didn't see where the hype about it was coming from a few months back

I think that's because they did really well with the trailer, i admit i got a bit pumped when i saw it.

Oscar noms announced last night. Pretty predictable imo.

No Prisoners, Rush, Frozen, Saving Mr Banks or Blue is the Warmest Colour love. Frozen will win best animated but deserved best pic nom.
Just a show for celebrities to wank each other off anyway.

Watched "Frozen" tonight.

If you've seen a few Disney films before, then this will be nothing new to you - however, that doesn't make it a bad film, because it wasn't. It was good fun.

Olaf was a crack-up!

The Wolf of Wall Street - Pretty good. I can see why Jonah Hill got a best supporting actor nomination.

7/10

Went and saw Spike Jonze's new film "Her"... f**king brilliant. Really enjoyed it... and can't wait to see it again. Joaquin Phoenix puts in a stellar performance.

^^ trailer. It's a must-see imo. A very, very accurate (in my opinion) representation of what technology will look like in our not-too-distant future.

Her - brilliant illumination of where were going. walking down the street and seeing how people are with their phones i can only imagines its a matter of time before that relationship goes one step further 9/10

Walter Mitty - Really enjoyed it. Stiller blended all elements perfectly much to my suprise. plenty of feel good stuff and a good message. benjamin button part had me in tears. 8/10

Enders game - big suprise. was expecting not much and was very happily suprised. probably the best donespace film ive seen in a decade. 8/10

Blue jasmine - ah woody woody woody. grating ainful flick without his usual on the spot dialogue. big let down after midnight in paris and to rome with love. turned it off after an hour 4/10

12 years a slave - great. cameos by fausbender and cumberbatch were splendid. 8/10

I haven't seen the film but it appears that the theme where a person falls in love with an AI entity has been done to death. The more recent versions of The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits dealt with this theme quite a few times.

I suppose I should see Her before I prejudge it.

Yeah, see it first. It's the best execution of that theme that I've seen.
