Locke.

Won't be to everyone's tastes, but it is an excellent film in my mind.
Just one guy. Driving. For an hour-and-a-half talking on the phone. It doesn't sound like much but it is compelling stuff watching his life crumble down around him in just this short amount of time.
Brilliant editing and cinematography, and Tom Hardy is perfect in this one man show.

any of you seen the Cube movies???

Yeah, saw both Cube & Cube 2 (HYPERCUBE!) when they were new/recent releases, but haven't rewatched in the last 10 years or so. They were entertaining enough at the time, but kinda like Saw & Final Destination, most of the fun is guessing how the next person is going to perish in some creative way.

Yeah I have also seen Cube 3 (Cube Zero).

Didn't even know there was a third Cube! I actually wouldn't mind watching them again (especially first one, I think I only found out about it in the first place via some Empire magazine Top 10 list or something, back in the day).

Wifeys turn to host mothers group today, so I needed to make myself scarce for a few hours. Went to nearby shopping complex to get some flu meds, and thought "hey fred, this is the perfect opportunity to go see guardians of the galaxy again".

Loved it even more second time around.

Just finished watching Eraserhead (1977) and have no idea what it was about. I couldn't stop watching it....just waiting for the next bizarre scene.

X-Men: DOFP

Very disappoint. Maybe its because Im an old school comics fan but it just didnt feel right to me. They didnt even try to explain Trasks motives for wanting to wipe out mutants, just had him constantly banging on about humanitys extinction blah blah blah

Really lack lustre writing imo. Lazy even

Got Leon The Professional (Jean Reno, Natalie Portman) out from the local video store I was randomly walking past last night (yes one still exists near where I live!), one of those movies I've just never got around to watching.
Also some Robin Williams movies (Baron Munchausen, Dead Poets, Death To Smoochy) and Choke (Sam Rockwell) which I have seen before but long enough ago that I feel like checking them out again.

Love going to video stores (especially old school independent ones like my local one), nothing quite like the feeling you get browsing through the shelves when you spot a hidden gem you haven't thought about in years!!! Will be a sad day when they're all gone for good.

Got a whole bunch of Z-grade movies off a mate a few weeks ago (about 250 +) and most of them seem to come from the SYFY mob.

Steer clear of a mess called American Warships. For a movie made in 2012, its "special effects" make those 50s sci-fi movies look superb. IMDB rate it a 2.8/10 and the budget is not disclosed. As a guess, I would say about $85.40 plus GST.
