I hated Mr and Mrs Smith the first time I saw it, didn't expect something so goofy and over the top.
I enjoyed it a lot the second time when I realised its not supposed to be taken seriously.

You're right though, Jolie hasn't done many good movies at all.
Haven't seen Changeling or Girl Interrupted which are apparently both good, but look at her filmography its mostly mediocre

Don't listen to these mongs. Turn off the brain and give its a whirl. Plenty of good laughs to be had if you're not a sour puss.

I was going to check it out until I saw all the bad press
Trailer looked ok?

It's shitehouse... tried too hard to be funny and most of the best parts were in the trailer. This review is coming from a massive Family Guy fan too.

TED was underwhelming but okay, but this is an abortion of a film.

I saw the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
I didn't think it was as bad as so many people are saying. I wouldn't o so far as to call it a good movie, but it was ok.
I was a massive fan of the old cartoon and movie series when I was growing up. This did nothing to ruin that. The look of the turtles didn't bother me at all. I thought they were pretty cool looking actually. I don't know what people expect 6-foot mutant ninja turtles to look like.

I think it suffered mostly from a crappy villain (as a lot of movies seem to these days). While I didn't mind the turtles' look, the Shredder just had too much crap on his suit. He didn't rely on his expert ninja training, but his 'cool' knives and stuff.
Character development was limited. There was honestly more in the original movie (mostly Leo and Raph). Here they are basically just introduced as a certain type (the leader, the joker, the nerd, the arsehole) and you get nothing else from them. If they could have just cut down some of these action scenes and focused on their relationships with each other, with Splinter and with April then I'm sure a much better movie could have come from it.

Also, Megan Fox isn't that good an actress. She isn't even that good-looking anymore so that can't make up for it. I don't know what she has done with her face but it doesn't look natural.

I would also like to ask Jonathan Liebsman (or any other action director) to please stop swinging the bloody camera around during action scenes. I'm not even talking about so-called 'shaky cam', but when the camera just keeps moving around and around making hard to keep track of what you are watching. The scenes when they are sliding through the sewer tunnels and down the snowy mountain were so hard to watch because of this.

Lastly...people need to get off Michael Bay's back about this movie. He didn't direct it. He didn't write it. He was a producer, and how much input he actually had into this is probably minimal (same as Spielberg with the Transformer movies). If you want someone to blame for it being crap...the writer and director are the obvious ones. Bay is just an easy target.

Tried to watch Transformers: Age of Extinction three times now. It's just. so. f**king. bad.

Awful story. Awful acting. Awful dialogue. Awful use of Transformers. More awful use of Decepticons. Criminal underuse of Dinobots.

I want Michael Bay and Nicholas Sparks to f**k one another while getting blown up.

Now this one you can definitely blame Bay for.
A mess of a movie. And a f**king long mess at that.
Do you really need 3 hours for a Transformers movie? I was so bored watching this.

Just saw Ninja Turtles and I must say it was enjoyable.

Not a great movie by any means but I think they got the turtles right. I grew up in the late 80's/early 90's living TMNT and this certainly doesn't detract from anything that has come before. Being a Michaelangelo fan from the beginning, I'm happy to see his character stay true to what I imagine him to be, playful, funny, cheeky.

I agree with T.S Quint in that some of the camera work during action scenes is a bit too over the top. With computer effects getting better, film makers need to use the camera during fully animated scenes as they would a real camera. Not swinging around the action, keep it on a imaginary dolly, that will make the action that much more believable.

I'd give this an easy 7.5/10. If you're like me and still have some kid left in your heart you'll enjoy it.

Yep.
Mindless fun, without being completely stupid.

Watched The Hundred-Foot journey last week, actually enjoyed it.

Really keen to see The Equalizer when it comes out.
