Watched The Grey (Liam Neeson vs wolves) for the first time tonight, thought it was really good.

Few plane flights recently.

Lone Ranger. Not good, but nowhere near as bad as was made out.

Way, Way Back. Very good.

Mama. OK, lost it at the end.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, was ok, a bit cartoony with the action. It actually mainly made me want to watch Lincoln (Spielbergs film).

Gravity at IMAX 3D. Same as what others have said, brilliant stuff, but you HAVE to see it in 3D, on the biggest possible screen. Most immersive film I've ever seen.

Recently saw Gravity in 3D, definitely lived up to the hype

Why did Clooney detach himself when they got to the space station? I didn't quite understand that?

Because he thought the ropes that her foot was entangled in wouldn't hold them both, and by detaching himself he managed to give her a shove back toward the station so she could survive

There were a few bits like that that you could probably have the odd quibble about realism-wise but overall I think it did a very good job of trying to keep things as accurate as possible.

Pacific rim. Was ok, it wasn't as shit as I was expecting it to be. If ur into giant robots and monsters destroying things then it's for you.

Gravity. You have to see it in 3D if you don't it'll be lost on you. Story isn't great in my opinion but the 3D makes it what it is. Visually awesome. Story wise meh but doesn't need to rely on it but can't see myself watching it again

Metallica: Through The never

Concert with a 'story' attached if you could even call it a story. My take on it is it pays homage to roadies

So...you're saying this is basically Avatar set in space, instead of on a planet?

Hmm.

Cannot quite understand the plaudits this film is receiving if the story is so dull tbh. Pretty effects don't make a movie.
