Finally got around to watching Deadpool. Not even close to what I was expecting. Very enjoyable,

get out

love a good horror movie that I can't quite compare to anything else ive seen plot/scare wise. Enjoyed it

It was okay for a b-grade schlock blacksploitation movie.

Dunno why it has 99% on RT.

Pretty predictable and cheesy I thought.

Hacksaw Ridge - Brilliant

I can't remember what beat it for the Oscar but it must have been a fcking amazing movie

I am up to the bit where he is facing a court martial and his dad is about to enter the room

Then my flight landed.

It must improve from this point on. It's been a bunch of poor performances by aussie actors so far.

Caught a movie called The Prince on Netflix on my return flight from the States(not sure if it's part of the Aussie catalogue). Anyway it's about a retired hit man(Jason Patric)searching for his missing daughter. It ambles along with a couple of good scenes but the thing that struck me was John Cusack. I always liked him but lately have seen him pop up in some absolute sh*t along the lines of Nicholas Cage. Made me think that as an actor, when you're hot, you're hot. When you're not it's straight to direct release.

Churchill. Focuses solely on the lead up to D-Day and Churchills concern over a beach landing due to the disaster at Gallipoli, excellent. 8/10

The Invitation 8/10 - Interesting and dark psychological drama in the same tone as The Gift. Very intense and original.

The Signal 6/10 - Half decent sci-fi effort that fell away trying to do too much in the end.

The Silence of the Lambs 7.5/10 - In a minority here but I do find this slightly overrated. Hopkins is the wild card and out of this world brilliant, but save for him I found the plot a little too run of the mill.

The Cabin in the Woods 7/10 - Interesting concept, a weird mix of meta horror-within-a-horror & dark comedy. Not as great as it's made out to be though.

Snowpiecer 7/10 - One of the better post-apocalyptic sci-fi action movies. Could have been even better but the climax is surprisingly limp.

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation 7.5/10 - Huge surprise, a franchise that should be dead somehow still has plenty of tricks up its sleeve. High-quality pointless action.

I actually like all of these movies. Except MI2.....that was a steaming pile of sh*t.

Yeah has become such a fun franchise, hope they make another one, heard there was a pay dispute with Cruise or something like that. Ghost Protocol still my favorite.

Benji I thought you said Kremlin for a minute there :D hah

Watched Wonder Woman and Spider Man Homecoming back to back.

Holy shit they were both really good...

I had been looking forward to WW for some time now and I wasn't disappointed... great origin story which links in with the rest of the fragmented DCU. By far the best DC film since the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Spider Man was what surprised me... I didn't really have high hopes for that film but it was a great damn film. I loved the fact that the story kinda sits in a space not at the top of the MCU with the Avengers but somewhere below that where he has to balance being a kid and being a superhero.

TBH I would rather have an even smaller part for Tony Stark and maybe used a character like Daredevil who was more at that level of the MCU... I know Daredevil was more R Rated which Spider Man certainly wasn't... but i thought it would have been a cool way to tie the MCU with the TV series guys.

Keaton was a BOSS.... which was great as I didn't originally think much of his character when I first saw the trailers.

Watched Ghost in the Shell last night, not bad, but a bit off the original and they should have used an entire Japanese cast.

I don't eat it either, maybe twice a year. It's not even food but just tastes so damn good.
Haven't eaten maccas in 10 years. The last time I went there was 2014 to get a Coke on Hollywood Blvd because there we no 7-Elevens!

Found an aussie guys youtube video on how to whip up homemade quarter pounders, I will look like George Rose by the end of the year. The Founder, very good film.
