What Movies Have You Seen III

Just watched Captain America Winter Soldier for the first time in a few years...

Such a great movie... it really broke the mold for a superhero film... was more a spy espionage film than an out and out superhero movie which is what made it great.

And it had two great twists... the whole Hydra in Shield reveal and then to top it off you have the Winter Soldier being Bucky.

The only issue I really have watching it back now is the fact it sits in the Marvel Universe... which kinda makes it abit off when Cap was on the run from shield/hydra he had no one to turn to but Falcon... Er... I’m pretty sure Tony Stark would have helped him... especially seeing as he found out that the Winter Soldier killed his dad... who at the time he didn’t know was Bucky.

Even when he linked up with Fury at the end... they didn’t think of contacting Stark... who could have probably hacked them and destroyed the plan without doing much... or I dunno... Iron Man could have just showed up and blow those carriers out of the sky before they started... hmmm...

:joy::joy:

But apart from that... it’s a great film... :joy::joy:
Great movie but the more you think about it the magic of it starts to disappears quickly.

Hell or High Water 8/10 - Great character drama; the plot is cut down nicely to a simple robbery and chase movie, but it's all in the well drawn motivations, dialogue and seriously good acting.

Jeff Bridges is a hoot as a relentless, sarcastic old prick, but it's centered around Ben Foster & Chris Pine as two lowly brothers trying to make a buck. Foster is outstanding as always, he's an absolute chameleon, but who would have thought Captain Kirk had this much depth?

The Dark Tower - OMG what did they do to my most favourite book series.

So so bad, glad I never watched this at the movies and gave over my hard earned on this abomination.
Mate I refuse to ever watch this
Basically because how can you fit a seven book series (some of those books 700+ pages ) into a two hr Hollywood movie .
Laughable

Watched Brawl in Cell Block 99.
Vince Vaughan is pretty good as the lead .
It's violent ..gory & a pretty good story to hold it together .

A little bit far fetched in places. Lol what Hollywood movie isn't ?
But enjoyable.8/10

If you watch keep an eye out for Don Johnson As the warden
As he ages he is slowly morphing into a Gary Oldman clone .

Nearly as hard as when that idiot midget Tom Cruise was going to play a 6ft5 Jack Reacher .

To be fair, (while a miscast obviously) he did fine first time around.
Handled the weary rogue agent detective shtick well, didn't phone it in at all.

But wow that second Jack Reacher was a pile of dog crap.

Will never watch .
As a fan of the JR books I just cannot watch a 4ft6 midget play a 6ft5 250 pound intimidating man .

It's ridiculous .

Fair enough, physically he's just not even close.

Reminds me of Matthew Goode attempting to play Ozymandias, the guy can act but it was such a distracting miscast I was taken away from the source material any time he came on screen.

This was recommended to me by another poster here. A great character driven movie with Ben Foster playing a great role. Jeff Bridges doesn’t disappoint either.
The ‘Comanche’ scene in the casino with Foster & the Indian gambler was really cool.

Thoughts on this series as I'm on the fence?

Well worth it, a lot of characters to follow though I got a bit lost and had to re-watch a few eps. Watch it in its original German though. I tried the English dub but it was pretty bad.

I am legend 7/10 - Still a good movie. I saw the alternate ending, was disspointed with that.
IT - 9/10 I loved this on my first viewing. I will try and watch again before the second movie comes out. Well done.
