Its blu ray so the quality is sooooo much better than you'd get on dvd. I mainly got it for the making of doco. When you watch that you understand why it stands alone as a great popcorn flick as well as a sequel.
Thanks for the reply, I have been running some of my older DVDs through the system to check them out, Jaws 2 which I bought from the states quite a few years ago looks really sharp, the dvd has the same extras that are on the new blu ray release so I don't think I will upgrade, even though I have watched the movie I haven't watched the extras apart from the deleted scenes. Some other movies that especially released in the early days on dvd are appalling looking now and some not formatted in a proper widescreen format, a lot of those are being weeded out.
The first blu ray disc I bought was The Towering Inferno from the UK, the quality of that blew me away and the extras are fantastic.
