What should our expectations be after 6 rounds?

How many games do we need to win for this to be considered a successful start to the season?

We have heard in previous seasons that coaches want six rounds under their belts before being judged.
So we play Newcastle (won), Storm, Dogs, Dragons, Titans and Eels.
How many games do we need to win for this to be considered a successful start to the season?

I put 3 , a 50% strike rate for us at the beginning of the season would be an improvement on recent years. Would like to see more though and build up rather than the wheels fall off.
We can't rely on doing well during State Of Origin time it just gives false hope.

If we won 3 of those, I'd be happy.

If we won 4, I'd be ecstatic.

I try to approach the Warriors with little to no expectation of anything good.

I picked 4 as measure of a great success, but I'd be happy with 3. Any less than 3 and we're not any different than previous years.

On paper it is 4 for sure. But I'm content with 3, 3, even though it is an easy enough start, if only because we are always shockers at the start of the season. 3/6 would be our best start in years, and would be a great platform for our usual mid season run.

Anything under 3 is a disaster though.

OK. Thanks guys.
This year, for the first time ever, I have not renewed my membership.
I haven't done this lightly. I know supporters are supposed to "keep the faith".
But I am not a sheep and will not blindly follow.
The club rang me and asked why I had not renewed and I told them that, after the disappointments of the last 5 years, last years total capitulation was unacceptable. I said I would give it six rounds and then make a final decision.
I don't like not being a member; this is my club. BUT unless someone lets the club know that we are not happy we can't blame them if they continue down the same track.
It is sad JD now sees the writing on the wall. Sadly I don't think the management know how to turn it around.

So I am taking your advice. The Warriors have to win 4 of their first 6 games for me to renew my membership.

Good on you Rich. Professional sporting clubs are not to be followed blindly, at least in terms of our patronage and hard earned $. I would never change teams, as neither would you, but nor should you have to renew your membership without thought each year. I like Jim Doyle but he erred in saying people who stayed away from the club due to poor performances were 'not real fans (paraphrasing) last year, and that ridiculous off-season faith marketing campaign that Scurrah ran before his long overdue demise. If members simply renewed year after year without thought, the coffers would remain full and the club would see no point in change. Voting with your feet (and of course you'll still follow the club from social media/TV etc, but you won't be purchasing the merch/tickets that strongly contribute to the success of any NRL outfit) ensures they remain accountable.

I see it on social media a lot, anyone who posts anything negative - be it over the top or constructive criticism - cops the wrath of the 'real fans'. These people who blindly follow anything the club does and believe in a North Korean style 'speak no evil' are part of the problem. I love the club and will applaud everything they do well, but equally I'm able to say this isn't good enough and know that I haven't relinquished my place as a fan in the process.

I actualy made that call last season. I gave them until the econd month of the season to sort their shit, if they'd put in a good performance in Melbourne I'd have bought my membership... but we know what happened there! This year its the same deal. After six rounds I'll give them my support if they deserve it. Hopefully they will.

You mentioned that call here, I recall. Very wise of you, but I thought we were beating Melbourne that night. Instead, some real chickens came home to roost.

We're three spots behind the 'struggling' (but top-eight) Knights after round 2. Very early days, but that looks terrible. I'm looking forward to Tuesday to see if Foran's in the side.

I don't know about the rest of you but whenever I hear the high points of 1995 (our first game), 2002/03, 2008, and 2011 mentioned I feel like it's a monkey around the neck. We can't be looking so far back for some genuinely great memories.

You're dead right.

Often you see the boys being commended for participation, or "at least they're trying", or the classic "lets see you go out there and do better". No. I'm not a paid professional footballer. I get paid to do what I do day in and out and there's no tolerance for slacking off, and these guys plain and simple are slack.

Thankfully there's a decent mix on social media between voices of reason and the North Korea fans.

Haha, this is my favourite (or least favourite). There's a rise of people having an honest opinion and fighting the 'real fans' which is a great thing. Those sort of things are why Jim Doyle has said he'll quit if we don't get results, there are people actively using their voice to say losing is not okay and we'll vote with our money and our feet.
