Warren lives in the Castle Hill area and his son went to Parramatta Marist.

Ray Warren used to have an ongoing stoush with a Canterbury lower grade coach by the name of Mick Hartas. Hartas also coached at Fairfield Pats, a long time nemisis of Parramatta Marist.

One year I was playing in the Parramatta knockout and Hartas and Warren were having a slanging match from touchline to touchline. Quite funny actually.

Both Warren and Hadley are die hard Eels fans.

HAdley was an Eels fan until they punted Pat Richards.

Look at who has copped the brunt of Hadley's critisim

1) BRian Smith - The man responsible for the player retention
2) Matt Petersen - The player who took Richards spot

Vossy has got to have one of the most whinny and annoying commentary voices

I'll be muting the footy if hes the future of Ch9.. no offence but I can't stand him. Rather listen to Andrew Moore or Hadley

No way!!!

I think Vossy the best and is the most informed commentator in Leauge (honorable mention to Warren Smith). Vossy is passionate about the game and it shows in his calling. Ray Warren is more of a "professional sport commentator" - and it's obvious that the only games of footy that he watches are the one's that he calls.

I remember when the Cowboys finally got showed on channel 9 last year, he said stuff like - "Gee this Matt Bowen kid can play". Yeah - no sh!t Rabbs, we've been watching the 9:30 Saturday night Cowboys for the last 2 years!!

It seems that Ch9 are grooming Vossy into the major caller (about bloody time), he calls about half the channel 9 games now - it's only a matter of time until Rabs goes out to pasture.

I say bring on the next swimming meet - to get rabbs away from footy for a few weeks!

Strange - I would have thought punting Richards was a good thing ...

Yeah it surprises me that Hadlee would care that much about a winger.

Id never change my allegiances because of something like that - and trust me the Raiders have tried their hardest. Firstly they let Clyde go - the reason I started goign for the Raiders and secondly they let Wiki go - my hero ever since 94.

But ill always be a raider, you cant just change.

well as far as ray hadley's comments go - i regularly ask 2GB for transcripts of Ray's calls and use them as spare toilet paper - and I call on all true league supporters to do the same.

In a trial match once when Penrith had a new uniform (1994?) Vossy said that he had one of the old brown Penrith jumpers as a kid.

I seem to remember Vossy openly admit to being a Penrith Supporter during the post mortem of one Friday night game in 2003.

Ray Warren is a fan of any club willing to give him free access to a golf course, a laptop connected directly to the sportstab website and a golf buggy with a keg in the back and an intreveinous drip

Is Voss really from Dulwich Hill? That's like, right next to me. I always used to think he was from Brisbane.

Hadley knows Pats mum and dad...... ;-)

Yeah but he still made a complete d*ck of himself on radio one day by blasting a caller who was telling him Pat Richards played for Parra in 2000. Ray insisted he joined in 2001. What a goose. Did he ever apologise???

you remember crap like that from over 10 years ago....

wtf?

I remembered it because it told me what team a prominent commentator goes for and for ten years (up until reading this thread) I thought that Voss went for Penrith.

I think Souths because after the Cowboys v Dragons game he said 'that's 16 wins in 3 seasons for Souths, not that I've been counting or anything'.

Voss is definitly a Penrith supporter, thats all he talked about during their 2003 finals run.I remember Sterlo and Fatty always asking him how he was managing to contain his excitement and he talked about how he hadn't been that excited since the early 90's.

Through and through Eels supporter. I know it for a fact - plus, listen to his call of an Eels game, especially when we're doing well... the big man gets excited.

I think he lives in the Northmead area, which is another hint.

Nick

Yep I think he did live at Northmead but now lives at Castle Hill and yes a big eels fan.
