Average performance by B.M. He did 1 maybe 2 good things in the match. Don't forget who we played against. Parra were awful. That's why I even picked the Tig's to win in my work tipping comp. I hardly pick them.
We played against a team thats been just as woeful as us for the past 5 years.

Yet this was the first time since 2005 that we'd beaten them.

4 try assists and 3 line break assists, yet only "1 maybe 2 good things"......hahaha, get your hand off it.

He does still have those silly things in his game. Unecessary passes, he passes when players are in a worse position than he is..... kicks out on the full. Ok, maybe I am being too hard. It was probably a little above average game but let's see him play a quality team.

The first try from Benji's kick.... if the Parra player doesn't touch it, that kick goes way over the sideline. Lucky there. Just little things like that.

You're right, he does have errors in his game. Thing is, without him we don't score any points last night. Talk about "lucky kick" etc, but after sitting through b/s results over the past few years we were due for some luck.

He's a work in progress that is already better than most of the halfbacks running around. Pleasing aspects for me are the little improvements I've noticed, such as his kick-chase game, he seems more confident in defence and last night put on a couple of really good shots, things like that.

I don't go to the footy expecting a flawless game from a halfback working off the sh*thouse platform our forwards lay for him 90% of the time. When some of our lazy SOBs decide to pull their finger out, run a good line for him and give him support, you can see he can lay on a try as easily as I lay cable in the morning after my weet-bix.

I gotta say that I think Morris' effort last night took a bit of pressure off Benji too. Morris got us more than one repeat set at them with good kicks into the in-goal and his clean up was outstanding again. His tackle in the corner on the 6th was a pearler.

Morris even turned Hayne around once or twice with his deep kicks - who knew he had it in him?! More to the point - where has it f**king been for the last 2 & 1/2 years!

Still has the blinkers on with ball in hand, and wasn't even watching the ball off the bomb that Hayne lost, but still, a better overall performance.

Agreed.

Morris has tunnel vision. He is one dimentional. He cannot play off the cuff. Even after all these years of playing footy.

What a suprise move ?
Another spectacular game again from magic
John morris is sh*t in attack but at least he is consitent in defence with at least 35 tackles a match

WITH finals football now entering the realm of mathematical possibility, Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens has forecast drastic changes to his side including the possible end to his experiment of playing Benji Marshall in the No.7. Sheens said something had to give after his side slumped to their sixth defeat from their last seven matches with a 21-10 loss to ladder-leaders St George Illawarra on Friday night.
Tigers v Dragons: the full match report
While Sheens refused to lay the blame at any one player's feet, it was another disappointing night for Marshall at first-receiver, with his passing and kicking game coming unstuck at critical moments as he pushed for the money play far too often.
Marshall's first season in the No.7 jumper has been something of a mixed bag, his inconsistencies mirroring the Tigers' performances to leave them in need a minor miracle to qualify for their first finals campaign since their 2005 premiership triumph.

"He's leading the try assists and line break assists in the game at the moment, but there's too many errors around him,'' Sheens said of Marshall's rocks and diamonds game.
"It's just the execution of the pass, he's trying to do many things with it - too many passes have to be a try - you've got to pick your mark and the execution of the pass isn't good enough. He's got some work to do and I've got to have a good look at the make-up of the team.''
Asked if this meant switching Marshall back to five-eighth, Sheens said: "Possibly - I'm not saying I won't ... at this stage I've just got to look at the whole make-up of the team really. We've won one game in our past seven or eight, I can't keep going around, around, around with the same guys - there's got to be some looking at the side as well and maybe that also look at positional changes.''
While the Tigers fell behind 20-0 after just 31 minutes against the Dragons, they came up with enough half breaks to give their fans hope of a comeback.
It never really materialised with Beau Ryan's try just before half time followed by Marshall's all too late four-pointer with eight minutes remaining. Sheens admitted the pressure of playing catch-up football - both on the scoreboard and premiership ladder - was affecting his players.
"When you're winning games mistakes don't enter into the head as much as when you're not winning games ... there's a certain amount of anxiety there that we're trying to keep down as much as possible,'' he said.
"It's hard - it's building from within themselves, from the media, from their supporters, from the game generally - the 'here we go again' type of thing. It's my job to make sure that they don't play under that pressure ... we have to stick together and work for each other.
"You start sitting in little groups pointing fingers at people, that's when the place breaks down and at Wests Tigers that won't happen.''

Just because Benji does the goose step every now and then, doesn't make him extraordinary. But yet fans lap it up.

imo Marshall seems to think that playing halfback means he must quadruple the amount of inside balls to a prop/backrower .......

I agree if Benji had a better half beside him and could play a more natural game he would be far far better...

I mean when was the last time you guys won the gf ohhh when Scott Prince was there... so yes it makes perfect sense aye....

BUT you cant deny that Benji would make an AWESOME fullback...
