Anyone got any idea what type of spider this is....was hiding in my laundry basket with folded clothes, it had laid eggs by the looks of it, was a bit bigger than a 20c piece

Dude....spiders are cool, they eat the annoying ones.

Insect apex.

Respect.

Humans are such killers.

Me included, but I have respect for apex, keeps the rest in balance.

Depends on where you leave your shoes, I guess. If I left mine outside, I'd be checking. But in the bedroom, nah, never looked.

Plenty of drop bears around my place though.

Nah, I find if spiders make their way inside my house, which is rare these days, they tend to crawl up the wall and start making a home in the corner. They only tend to get comfy inside a shoe if it's been outside for a while.
I'm not sure how common they are outside of Australia, but we have flyscreen doors and windows. They tend to keep most of the flying, biting, annoying things out of the house.

Depends where you live. If you have an apartment in the CBD, you probably don’t need to. I lived in South Maroota for a little while, and we’d get things like Centipedes getting under the front door lol..

I don't know about over east, but maybe 7 or 8 years ago over here in WA we had a sudden influx of Portuguese millipedes. Those little bastards were everywhere. They were definitely getting in under doors.
