I dont think the Tigers need a new coach as much as we need a good no#7 with organization skills and a kicking game and a real dominant prop . Definitley no more players who are already checking out walking frames and retirement villages . Benji to me seems way more dangerous at five-eight . In 05 we had Scott Prince and havent had a quality half since . Your thoughts !!

Its the old story,if you cant beat em join em. Sheenius style football dosnt work any more, we have to adopt a style more like Manly,Dogs,Storm,Souths and Sharks. The game has to be based on hard defense, the attack will look after it self. Also long term out of form players have to be held accountable and dropped. Sorry a good no7 would help, but we have to be De Sheened first

Our game plans require a creative 1/2 back and fast backline to compliment each other to be successful,
what we trotted out this year was neither.

I have no problem with Benji at 7 or 6. We need some pace out wide more than we need another half.

Benji at 7 has proven time and again to be a failure. He's just not good enough for it.

Anasta is a good 6 if he has a good 7. A shit 7 will see anasta become our worst half ever.

I thought the Anasta at 7 decision and Benji back to 6 had already been made.

Benji was successful this year at halfback . The problem was Injuries to Farah who missed half the season, tedesco who missed all but 20 seconds, Galloway who missed 6 weeks. When farah and Galloway both played we won 9 from 12 without them 2 from 14 . I know tedesco was only a rookie but he was our number 1 fullback and take the number one fullback out of any of the big teams and they would have struggled -dogs without Barba, souths without Inglis, storm without slater or in the case of Farah -souths without Luke, storm without smith , even dogs without ennis. We had less players play more then 20 games then any other team due to injury with only 6 while the dogs had 13 players play more then 20 games .

The problem was what the coach did with the team once our 'number one fullback' went down. And let's not forget, this number one fullback had about as much NRL experience as our number 2 fullback did - Tom Humble. He may or may not have been a better option than our number 3 fullback (Tim Moltzen) but was given the chance to prove himself ahead of the rest. Unfortunately he got injured, and Sheens was shown to be lacking a plan B.

Anasta at 7 is our best option in 2013, but its far from great. Should never have signed him

Tend t agree, especially with Sironen being blooded just after Anastas signing. Sironens good performance and potential has negated the 'worth' of Anasata's recruitment. But we are stuck with him and Sironen has to be accommodated elsewehere in the squad or relegated to lower grades to further await his time.

Anasta 7, Sironen 14. Then Sheens can reshuffle the whole team it order to accommodate them both on the field together for at least 17 minutes at the back end of every game.

I disagree. Benji's form went South very fast and he only turned in possibly 2 top quality games while at 7 this year.

He has said he prefers being at 6. The reason, because he has more room.

He's a world class player at five-eighth, why take him out of that and make a cod ordinary 7?

Our halves who trained all off-season together played 3 games together.

Moltzen played 20 games this year, Marshall 24.

That should have seen at least 20 games where we had the same halves pairing.

Instead it was dicked around unbelievably and thats what cost us.

Injuries were not a factor. We had Politoni and later Iosefa who are specialist hookers who are more than capable of replacing Farah. Instead we had Fulton and Humble in at hooker most of the time Farah was out.

What we need is for someone to follow Steve Price around the country and get a 7 before Price does.

FROM Canberra to Townsville, St George Illawarra coach Steve Price is scouring the NRL landscape for a playmaker capable of regenerating his club into a premiership force.

Ben Hornby's retirement and Kyle Stanley's ACL injury have left Price in dire straits for a top shelf No.7 despite signing Manly young gun Josh Drinkwater to a full-time deal.

We've heard Price is now considering a play for either Josh McCrone or Sam Williams, both of whom happen to be contracted to Canberra for next season.

The theory is one of the in-form pair will become superfluous when Raiders skipper Terry Campese returns from injury early next season.

But the really interesting mail is Price's pursuit for exiled Cowboys No.7 Robert Lui. Inquiries have been made about Lui's availability for 2013, but he's also under contract.

Although Michael Morgan's end-of-season form will make a return to first grade in Townsville challenging for Lui, there are other considerations that will most probably prevent him from moving south.

Despite their well-documented issues, Lui and partner Taleah Backo have settled in the tropics.

Friends and family are concerned about the couple moving away from their support networks.

Then there's the Cowboys, who have unsuccessfully tried to convince the NRL to allow Lui to play again this year.

They'll want a return on that investment for 2013, particularly given the fact they've continued to honour Lui's $200,000 salary.

Cronulla NSW Cup half Chad Townsend is another option.

But with Todd Carney's preparation for the 2013 campaign thrown into chaos because of a snapped achilles tendon, we can't fathom why Sharks coach Shane Flanagan would release his best deputy.
